This might be stupid...but do I have to add the fertiliser and other additives each time you plant a new seed? Cause the colours dissappear each time, and I can then add more. I go through soooo many of them, and it's a pain to add to the soil.

Yes, the three additives are all one-time use.

Don't worry automation is key and by automation I meant sl- workers.

Per say you don NEED to use them .. at least not on normal seeds. if you fill up the pots or growbeds at 04:00, plant and water them .. go to sleep and harvest as soon as they are ready, you can do 2 batches a day without fertilizer.
I found that only with coca seed it's needed to use fertilizer to speed it up. Use drying rack to increase the quality afterwords.
It get way to expensive to keep using fertilizer on normal weed imo :D

That's why I don't use additives, and I haven't figured out how to automate workers because it always seems like I have to do everything myself anyways.

fertilizer isn't for speeding it up it's for increasing the quality of the buds.

without it you have standard, with it you have premium.

the speed grow speeds it up, and it's instant and does 50% boost to the growth but decreases the quality to poor.

only additive you should be using is late game you use pgr to increase yield, then use the drying rack to bring up the quality.

Correct me if I'm wrong .. I thought that's what I said .. there's no need to use fertilizer for early game ..

But .. as you wrote .. am I doing it wrong? Coca seed is painfully slow .. so using speed fertilizer helps. I know it lowers the quality, but won't the drying rack fix that?

How much more buds do you get with the use of PGR? as normal weed give 12 without any and coca seed give 9. ( I'm trying to calculate as I want the botanists to do this for me )

Haven't unlocked coca yet, but for weed, you get 4 more (so 12 instead of 8, or 16 instead of 12, depending on what you're growing in).

honestly don't bother with the additives until later in the game when you have automation. It doesn't really benefit you to do so unless you are trying to get some new customers with the samples

I have never bothered with additives. Efficiency means - why bother?
But then I also only get the weed lamp that *just* boosts growth speed, not the best one that does that but boosts dehydration too. Ultimately it might not matter that it boosts plant dehydration but ehhh :-P.
Few more days and I can upgrade to the barn.

Does applying fertilizer and other additives together make the product a premium quality + the additive's purpose or will the other additives just make it bad and the fertilizer will just make it a standard quality?

Each additive takes effect separately, so if you use all three, your plant will go down one quality level instead of two.

If you boost the quality and use one of the other two, the overall quality will stay at standard (+/- will cancel out).

You use drying racks to get higher quality. The additives like quick grow actually degrade quality, which the racks can then bring back up.
