Tlatoani: Aztec Cities

Exactly what I was looking for
I'm a long time fan of games like Caesar 3 and Pharaoh and I'm really surprised by the quality of this game. So far I was able to to beat the 3rd mission after a few attempts

Feedback/questions:
1 - On higher UI scaling the Rally button covers the military buildings button
2 - The goods icons are very small and hard to distinguish
3 - The fade-in timing for hovering over things feels slow
4 - When I build crops at some angles, the tooltip for the number of crops above the farm gets covered by the crop amounts tooltip
5 - I'm having difficulty understanding when a manufacturer has enough materials to work with. Like I hover over the fabric maker and it says 1/2 materials and 1/2 fabric, then I click the building and it says it has 90/200 materials and 100/200 fabric. I don't understand what that means
6 - Dead enemies often still have a health bar with a sliver of health
7 - I've seen dead characters still moving around? I'm not sure what was happening, it was like their corpse was being carried by someone else
8 - Some times enemies will run across my entire city just to leave the map on the opposite side they entered (happened in mission 3)
9 - I think the tribute mechanic isn't very clear. Took me 3 attempts at mission 3 until I realized the capital is an actual trade partner, and the tribute is a tracker of the trades you completed. I was under the impression it was just an amount of goods that would be detracted at the end of the year. Military levies are confusing as well. It asks for spearmen but I can only dispatch captains. Why not just ask for captains directly? Seems like they're dispatched in the middle of the year? I still don't understand it
10 - Building water ditches along roads turns every single road tile into a bridge, which looks odd
11 - Is there no way to prioritize the construction of buildings? At some point I was stuck due to a lack of building materials, so I built an extra sawyier and clay pit, but years went by and they never got built. It seems all the wood and clay I produced was being sent directly to the kiln and other buildings
12 - The "pause construction" button doesn't seem to affect buildings that are already in the process of being built, which would be useful
13 - The detailed resources window is a bit confusing. I just wanted to know how much I'm consuming and producing but it seems to be spread across multiple numbers? Specially considering some times the number of goods is in the hundreds and some times it's a unit (for example a house holds maize in the hundreds, but my resources window says I produce 9 maize per year). Maybe a couple tooltips would help. This is a problem I had in Pharaoh too. I think it's because I make 9 "crates" of maize or something like that? Why not just have all quantities use the same base?

I'll attempt mission 4 later on. This is a pretty chunky demo which is appreciated!

How do you send tribute? I got stuck here and I see you in all the threads for the demo, and you mentioned having trouble with it too but I'm not quite clear on your resolution. Do I select the capital from within the trading post and select the good required for tribute, or am I misreading that?

On all the demo missions you already start with a trading post set to trading with the capital, so all you need to do is ensure the trading post has enough resources.

They'll send the resources as they become available over the year, and you can check the progress in the advisors menu that shows the tribute

If you have a granary set to "getting" maize, it'll take all the maize and you won't have any to trade, so set both the granary and the trading post to "balance" maize (I think a quantity of 8 is good enough)

For levies (tribute of warriors) you just enable to set the captain at the fort for empire service. I think they leave around the middle of the year and walk towards the capital (you can see them in the empire map).

Each captain has 3 spearman under them so I think it counts as 3 units for the request. So if you have a requirement of 6 spearmen, just mark 2 captains for empire service

Did you end up trying mission 4? I can't seem to get the obsidian to import. Can't figure it out and it becomes really important as time goes on and the attacking armies get stronger.

Are you sure you're setting the trading post to trade with the correct city?

I think 7Soul has the gist of things, but I'll try and revisit the thread once the dev schedule is a bit clearer. The discord is usually the best place to get help.

What confused me on Mission 4 is that you don't import Obsidian from a "city", but rather from the "Hinterlands".

Chiconautla should be the main seller for obsidian, but if the hinterlands offer it too that's a bonus. :)
