From the comp rules;
"105.1. There are five colors in the Magic game: white, blue, black, red, and green"
So, if you use {CRG} to pay for your spell with Converge, it would only have two +1/+1 counters, because you only use two colors of mana. Red {R} and Green {G}.
It does of course count towards Generic Mana costs. Radiant Flames cast with <><>R would inflict 1 damage on every creature. Converge highlights the distinct difference between Generic Mana and Colorless Mana.
- Radiant Flames[gatherer.wizards.com]
If you look at the ruling dated 8/25/2015, it states that "Colorless is not a color".
Going a step further on Colorless Mana vs Generic Mana. Colorless costed spells highlight the difference also. If you take Reality Smasher for example, which is costed 4<>. You must use at least one colorless mana in its cost. i.e. 4<> is distinctly different to 5.
107.4c The colorless mana symbol {C} is used to represent one colorless mana, and also to represent a cost that can be paid only with one colorless mana.
why do we even need to have this talk...
It does confuse and catch out people a lot even on dedicated mtg forums, besides always better to ask the question than not.
Sorry, bad habit.
Not only converge..., Just wait for SOI..... xD: Scry 3. Put Ulamog in 2nd place. Next turn, draw your card. +1 Sorin´s ability, show Ulamog. -10 life.
Plays, Ulamog.
Next turn. Anchor to aether/Roil Sprout to Ulamog. +1 Sorin´s skill, show Ulamog again.
Trololololololo
(Yes I know this is not what this topic is about but I had to say it)
There are some real big hitting plansewalkers in this set, no doubt about that, although it looks like we'll have to wait 'til Eldritch Moon for Liliana of the Veil v2. It'll be a shame if she's not in the story somewhere.
