I started playing this game again recently for the funnies and it's actually very good. I find oponents online once in a while and i'm curious to know if anyone still plays this game regularly.

Thanks for that tip, Dominus. I remember playing 2hg back in those days. I'll probably move back to that if the queues are faster. I literally have my phone looking for a match all day and maybe get 2-3 games per day with a few die-hard regulars on Magic Duels. Cheers!

From your experience (don't waste time checking this for yourself, i'll experiment with the different games if you don't know off hand) do you know which one has the largest player base? I wouldn't mind switching card libraries if I could just always find a game quickly. I did a cursory search online but couldn't find a good answer. I have all the games but I haven't tried the older ones in a while.

dont know but you could easily check on steamcharts website the current playerbase estimate

and if you asked on discussions of those games for people willing to play I bet you could find players to play matches with you

Nope sadly not. With the removal from the Store they gave you all the cards for free and in foil and so also removed the Quests.

Would have been nice if Duels could still have grown. But Stainless left, so they couldn't keep it ongoing. So they just opened up the cards for us to enjoy as we will. Though WotC moved on with Arena, which has now been brought to Steam, I am not a fan of the design change (such as cards not looking like proper cards). So a bit too much Gunk for me.

With store closed and support gone, quests were removed as nothing to gain from them anymore. Disappointing as game had a strong start when the moved away from the yearly versions (including 2015 which almost killed the series itself with a couple very bad choices at launch).

I hadn't completed all the achievements so I guess I can't ever now, but I had unlocked all the cards through playing and had been happy I didn't spend a dime to open any packs. Then they opened them all up lol so all that effort was wasted. But I still like playing so it wasn't a total loss.

Some money to support a game is not bad. If they had kept it going, a little here and there for some of us would be reasonable. But with unlocking all the cards as a thank you was nice for some, but perhaps not to those who spent their savings on the game. But as you didn't pay anything, not a big loss. And you got to enjoy it as it wasn't purely work.

The game is 8 years old. Learn what cards to counter and not to on your own time. Not sitting in a match with you so you can pause the timer every card I play for ten plus seconds...
