Black lotus overrated or not

People claim it's one of the most overpowered MtG cards that exist but is it truth!.
the Beta version might be it do not state it's most be Sacrifice and it's a artiifect (?)
still the later editions it still the BL but with Sacrifice text.
3 Mana not gonna make a lot of good the power curve is so high with the new cards it's hardly overpowered now.

It was great in its day. You could kill your opponent or more often drop a 4/4 critter on the first turn. You had 40 cards in a deck and 1 black lotus. You had moxes, thay go togather. In a 60 card deck not so much. Without moxes not so much. Playing a channel fireball on first turn was great. Happend to me only one time in league play. I sold all my moxes and black louts at the turn of the century.

It's still amazing now, assuming you pull it. It gives you 4 mana off the first turn. Imagine that the opponent is going first, and he plays Gideon: Ally of Zendikar on the first turn. by turn 4 you're down to 5 JUST from Gideon swinging in at you for 5 every turn. Throw in something like Heart of Kiran turn 2, and now you're getting hit for 9 minimum every turn. It's a massive tempo advantage that only extreme ramp can best, even if it's just for 1 turn. The moxen are more sustained advantage, but nothing is better for getting ahead than Black Lotus.
