A permanent is anything that persists the turn on the battlefield. Instants and Sorceries are not permanents, and Emblems are not targettable. Everything else, including lands, artifacts, creatures, and planeswalkers are all considered permanents. It is possible you misread your card or your opponent played something in response. Without knowing the cards involved we cannot really help you here.
While in any zone other than the Battlefield or the Stack (ie. Library, Hand, Graveyard, Exile, etc), a Card is called a "Card".
- While in your Library, Minotaur Abomination is simply a "Creature Card". When you Draw it, it's still a "Creature Card" in your Hand.
All non-Land Cards become "Spells" as they are Cast and move to the Stack.- You announce that you're casting the Minotaur Abomination. It leaves your Hand and moves to the Stack. You figure out its total cost {4BB}, you pay that cost and the Minotaur officially becomes a "Creature Spell".
Everything on the Battlefield is a "Permanent" (Artifact, Creature, Enchantment, Land or Planeswalker).Anything on the Battlefield is a "Permanent". Furthermore, anything that is not a Land is a "nonland permanent".
Your Minotaur Abomination (Creature Permanent) that just resolved does not have the type "Land". Therefore, it IS a "nonland permanent".
If it was Enchanted by Imprisoned in the Moon, then it would become a Land (and lose its prior types). Therefore, it is NOT a "nonland permanent".
I had to memolize every card on board. Next time I'll do if something weird happens. Thank you.
