How to open booster packs?
So I beat the eldritch moon campaign and clicked archetypes to see what that was about, but when I tried to go back it lead me to the home screen. I didn't get to open the booster packs. Is there a way to navigate trough the options so I can open them? I've tried everything I could think of. :/

I haven't done the story in some time, but I'm not sure if you get any boosters from Eldritch Moon campaign. I know you get a few from origins and kaladesh.

Regardless, you should still get starter cards from it, go to the card browser and there's an option to filter new cards (new cards will also be highlighted for you).

This also happened if you got any boosters and clicked on "open all" - it puts all the cards directly into inventory. If you want to savor the unwrapping, always click to open them one by one.

I found some YouTube videos of others playing it through. Apparently you're awarded one booster pack for completing Eldrich Moon the first time. "A Eldrich Moon booster has been awarded for completing this story!" Which I think should be "an"* ... But I'm certain I didn't open it, or choose "open all"... Are there other ways to earn coins besides story mode? Or is it limited to how much you can earn before you have to hand over your credit card? :P I just started playing today.

Every pack is worth 150 coins sometimes some sets are offered on 100 coins for each pack. You get gold by completing quests and winning versus battles and AI opponents.
You can also buy coins any time with real money.

Check the date on that video, it may be so that there used to be a booster giveaway when Eldritch Moon was premiered.

You get coins by playing vs AI or vs people. Obviously, you need to build a deck, or a couple of decks for it. It's not really recommended until you at least beat the story as you really need to unlock as many cards as possible. Check the community guides for a decent list of stuff you can build with starter cards - try to build a deck for each color combination so you can get the feel of what does what.

With this, you can start playing vs. AI (in Battle Mode) and work your way up the AI ranks until you get comfortable.

Now, the way to actually get those Shekels is to pay attention to your daily quests (they pop up daily... duh) - some can only be completed by playing vs. people, others are more friendly, for example requiring that you play a number of cards of a certain color (without having to win). You get a new quest each day, and on top of that you can replace one quest that you do not like with a random new one. They give you between 60-120 coins per pop, so it's good to take those into account.

Another decent way for a new player to get gold Two Headed Giant vs AI - in this mode you and your friend will have a shared life pool and have to beat a similar pair of AI opponents. You can play with random people, but I wouldn't recommend it at this stage. You get 30 gold per victory, same as in playing vs. People, but can't complete daily quests.
You can friend me on steam if you want to try this out, or maybe get some input.

All in all, you're limited to 300 coins per day from your game wins AND whatever you get off the daily quests, so with some practice, it's possible to afford 2-3 boosters each day.

Oh, okay I see. I've been playing MTG for a few years casually, (maybe 4?) but I like the feel of the game play dispite being limited in what I can build. I usually always play with my white/black so it's nice to break away from it and try other types. Atleast now I know I can earn back what I think I might have lost. Thank you for helping me Flacido Domingo / Wildspeaker. :)

Completing EMN and KLD Story campaigns for the first time each gets you one free Booster from that expansion. It's automatically opened and added to your Card Pool.

Completing them a second time (and every time thereafter) gets you nothing.
