I was playing MTG by the time you were born probably, and so far imo vehicles are unbalanced. If you can't win w/o vehicles, go play Hearthstone ;)
Then I congratulate you, as you look much younger in your profile picture. I play since... '93-94
W/R vehicles is a pretty violent deck but if you can prevent/stop the hemorragy in the first turns, it falls flat very quickly.
u know what i find unbalanced? playing vintage with my friends as we all have silly cards like moxes and dual lands... not to mention the simple old common cards like counterspell or swords to plowshares.
some vehicles are op, i agree, but there are plenty of ways to stop or get rid of vehicles.
Or rather, you do understand that not having controlled a Creature since the beginning of your most recent turn (and it not having haste) only affects its being able to be declared as attacking or its ability to have abilities that cost either {T} or {Q}?
It does not prevent them from being tapped to pay for a "Tap an untapped ~" cost, such as Cohort, Whirler Rogue or Crew.
Also, casting Creeping Mold on my Mountain does not preclude me from responding and {T}'ing that Mountain to cast Shock. My Shock will resolve first, you'll be dealt damage. That your spell will then destroy the Mountain does not uncast the Shock, nor will it undeal the damage.
The same applies to Crewing a Vehicle.
:O
That two sentence just doesn't make sense together. The stack is such an essential part of MTG that the "but I casted it first" is a sentence that you only expect someone who is new to the game.
So, if someone started playing at launch, but never bothered to read a Rulebook since (if they ever did), then their ignorance would be understandable. Though, not excusable.
It doesn't. Anything but. Nothing make sense when you look at it that way.
* You can crew a vehicle with a vehicle
* You can crew a small, one-man copter with a zeppeliner-sized flying whale (or ten)
* You can equip said flying whale with a humanoid armor and it will make it much stronger
* Said flying whale could also be wielding a knife, hammer or other weapon, and that would work fine even though it doesn't have arms
* You can return a dead spirit from the graveyard onto the battlefield
etc etc etc
Time walk. Opponent LOSES next turn. Such fun.
There's a mechanism something similar (but not entirely) to interrupts in modern: split second. Check out for example http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=370545
