Map editor tutorial?

I've been fiddling around with the map editor and it is quite intuitive to use. However, I've come across a problem: I seem to be unable to move around the editor panel. I tried wasd and the arrow keys as well as mouse dragging (including middle mouse button) and cursor to edge of screen but nothing seems to move my camera to another edge of the to be map. I'm pretty sure there is some stupid obvious way of moving around but I'm not able to figure it out. Can someone help me out here? Is there a tutorial somewhere on how to properly use the editor?

Ergh, figured out that I have to press the space bar and drag at the same time; then it also works for zooming. Use control to get the eraser.
