Trainz: A New Era

T:ANE Route Builder?
So a large portion of the enjoyment I got from Trainz 2009 (and the primary reason I have over 500 hours in that title) was the extremely powerful route editor that came with it. Although I have not done a large amount of digging, I have seen very little information on T:ANE's iteration of this feature.

Has anyone had any experience with the route editor in T:ANE? Is it as powerful as it's predecessors? What sort of new features have been added to enhance the editor over it's predecessors?

Well that doesn't seem to crippling, as I've only ever built scratch routes anyways. Only thing I've ever "edited", when it came to the built in routes, was to have a look at how certain aspects of it worked. Guess now it'll just mean more tinkering.

If it's the same editor, then I'll be a happy camper.

Is there access to the editor right now with the Community Beta release version?

" This change will require a route re-save/clone, but the underlying route is payware DLC and cannot be edited. Looks like RailWorks game. You can add stuff but NOT alter."

chris windwalkr = "This depends to some extent on the original route creator; if they make good use of the route layers (and etc) then it makes a session-builder's job a lot easier.
Sessions are quite powerful, allowing you to do fancy stuff like add new objects to the route and hide existing objects that you don't want to have showing up. While slightly more complex, this is vastly preferred over editing the route, because you can redistribute your sessions easily whereas you can't typically redistribute a modified version of somebody else's route.

About the only big thing you can't do with a session is to modify the ground itself.

from that thread so you dont have to read thru it all.
It, at this time, seems like the same from tz12.

In TZ12 I can clone Settle and Carisle and modify that to my hearts content and personal enjoyment.

In T:ANE CE I can not clone any of the provided routes.

I say we have an issue here. It looks like T:ANE is violating its own license agreement (plus all Trainz users expectancies).
