How do I download from Subpar Productions?
I have a lot of questions about Trainz and downloading content, and this is one of them. I'm pretty sure many Trainz railroaders are familiar with Subpar Productions, or Steam Machine. I've been downloading content off of the Content Manager because most there I assume are safe, and I haven't come across anything malicious. I'm pretty sure many Trainz railroaders are familiar with Subpar Productions, or Steam Machine.

I've been downloading content off of the Content Manager because most there I assume are safe, and I haven't come across anything malicious. I've been paranoid about Subpar Productions being a malicious site, but after realizing YouTubers have gotten content there and nothing bad happening, I supposed I'd give it a shot. I wanted to download the Virginian Alleghany, but when I downloaded it, It did not appear in the game, so I just deleted the file.

May I please get a step-by-step guide on how to download from Subpar Productions?

There are two downloads you will need from that site - the locomotive package (either the C&O or the VGN, or both if you wish) and the Lima 2-6-6-6 Common Files. Save these someplace where you can find them again.

Once you have the files downloaded, open Content Manager.
- Select File > Import Content Files.
- A pop up will ask where the files are located.
- Navigate to the folder where you saved the downloads and select each CDP (you can use CTRL+Left Click to select more than 1).
- Click the IMPORT button.

When this process finishes, you may close the progress window.
In Content Manager,
- click the drop down that says Installed, and select Open for Editing
- in the Open for Editing screen, select all the items (you can use SHIFT + Left Click to select the entire list)
- Right-click on the list and select Submit Edits.

This sometimes does not work for certain content, so if you have anything left in the list,
- select everything in the list again
- right-click on the list and select Revert Unsubmitted Edits
The list should now be empty

In Content Manager,
- click on the drop down that says Open for Editing and select Faulty
- if you have any items displayed in this list, you will need to resolve the errors

In the case of the Allegheny, there are several dependencies located on the DLS. This will show up in the list with a status of "Faulty, Missing Dependencies"
- right click on the item
- select List Dependencies
- look for all the items that show a status of "Available for Download"
- right click on each item with the above status and select Download.

Once this is complete, you should be able to find and use the loco inside the game
