Freeware Routes?
Are there any really good routes or sites with good routes or locomotives? I wanted some good freeware routes to try out and play on.

Have you tried looking into DLS and sorting by Category/Route?

Other than that, you can find nice list of 3rd party sites here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=892049082

Then it all depends on what you are looking for, either for specific country (real, fantasy routes) or for specific type of trains (passenger, freight, hi-speed, steam, diesel, electric, etc.)

Just one advice - don't go downloading old version routes much if you don't want to have problems finding its dependencies or running into incompatible speed trees for example. You can add Build Version column to Content Manager by right clicking which can be pretty useful. Generally don't download any route lower that 4.0 (or latest 4.5), you'll save yourself a lot of problems and lower version routes are better to run in Trainz 2012 or earlier Trainz anyway.

Thanks guys! I've bought some payware routes (Shortline RR, Midwestern Branch) and they're very cool! So I might be using some payware aswell!

The best way to start with payware is certainly to buy Platinum Edition bundle, it offers nice value for its price.
