help with download station

I am trying to use the built in content manager to download somthinbg i found on the auran web portal.

it is the clear lake mining - ng layout by philskene.

i can find it in a search on the web portal. all good.

if i click on the download with content manager I get a new browser window/tab that says "address was not understood" - it does not try to use the download manager even if i have it open.

i cannot find this in a search in the built in content manager, even if i search by author. if i search by philskene i only get two entries and neither are the layout i am looking for.

should i just try the ftp route? can anyone tell me why the download with content manager button in the web portal is not working nor why i cannot find this in the built in content manager? maybe i just don't know how to use it well enough.

i just tried the same thing with the download cart, again i got stuff into it but when i tried to download the cart is opened a new window with "address was not understood". the protocol it tried to use is trainz:// (as opposed to http:// for example). it seems that some association is not made?

thx, but ugh. another place to go. :( will give that a shot when i have time. do w have to register for the forums or does our auran account get us in there already?

You log in using your trainz username and password to access the forums.

Is a lot easier to download using the "Manage Content" utility on T:ANE'S launcher.
But of course is good to go to the dls webpage to browse and then if you see what you like, just use the launcher 's CM.

No doubt you will know how to do the following anyway :)
Open "Manage Content" Utility on the Launcher,
click on the "down arrow" right of Flter and change to Download Station
And right of that is another box to type in what you are searching for.
eg "Clear lake mining"

I did a search for the route on the dls you are looking for by philskene and it shows up with one route and four sessions using the Launcher's Utility.

When using the ftp, the dl will be saved as a cdp file. You can then drag the cdp into the Manage Content window or use the "import Content Folder" via the Launcher > File.

The "Download Helper" normally opens up T:ANE, then the "Asset download" window will appear and download directly iinto trainz.

I did a quick google search for "Address wasn't understood" and one person with trainz was using Firefox. Perahps contact support with this issue you are having. https://support.trainzportal.com/

There was a post over at the N3V forum about uploads getting to the Content Manager but not the web site white pages. They are looking in to it. Their forum is the place to go for info and help. Lots of people asking questions and getting answers pretty fast, including me. I always get help there.

unfortunately the web portal nor the cm seem, to work for me. in the cm when i search for clear lake, only the original clear lake mining comes up and it is greyed out for some reason. yes, set to dls, removed other search variables, even tried all content setting. in the web portal i can find it (clear lake mining and the session), but it shows invalid content.

i also tried to just dl it, and even with edge browser my computer does not know what to do with the trainz:// protocol. i wonder if it is an issue with the steam version.

pretty frustrating. i will see if/when i have tome to go to auran fouims and ask for help.

just to follow up on this. i found out i can download TANE via my account at Auran, rem,oved my steam version and did that. the content manager in the direct download version works and i can find and download what i was looking for.
