Here are some pictures of the same scene that performed differently:

As well as one that fullfilled all three chapter requirenments in one shot:

The 2-star picture seems to be judged by the game as a "good" panoramic/wide-angle photo, I rarely got my wide-angle shot scored 2 stars too, maybe because of the pose / gestures from the girl interactions ?

The 3 star picture seems to be judged as a perfect framing/angle for a "wallpaper/pinup/calendar" style photography, while the 1-star seems too harsh to be judged 1-star lol.

I also have some exact time frozen photos with different exposure settings, (see the following link, the three nanami photos in the middle left)

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3453724421

but the same exact scores, but I tend to have much better scorings with underexposed photos for morning/day shoots (placebo effect? I dunno) so if anyone could confirm no changes in scoring from exposure settings, that would be great.

On my 3 star photos i never used exposure or focus, since i have dof disabled (for performance) focus has no effect anyway. My highest so far was 114 no idea what caused it though, here i had 4 3* photos:

Ahh, the game factors only framing, angling, gestures/poses and face expressions only then. thanks. Timing the freeze frame for the right moment is also very important I guess, since many of the better scored shots seems to be in a blink or miss moments in my case.

Kind of annoyed you get cut off after 50 photos, when I'm taking about 300 per chapter. At least I get to keep them all.
The shots you want to take only for you, you can make with F12, and the Pics for the 50 with the camera ;) That is what i do. evtl. it helps...

I got a good luck with mommy Elise, getting a whopping score of 122 and 3 star. Not sure how repeatable it is, but here you go lads. The mommy is the key, maybe.

Exposure confirmed not affecting scoring
-3 Exposure https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3453835280
0/Normal Exposure https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3453835772
+3 Exposure https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3453836014

Also, there's certain "correct" angle range in the game scoring system if this is true
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3453833318 Picture 1 - 2 Star
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3453834132 Same scene, slight angle adjustment.

No aperture or exposure adjustment used in my current chapter playthrough, just angle and rotation (yes, I've just realized I can rotate the camera to take picture in "portrait" mode after seeing other people's pictures, smol brain moment).

The girl I'm focusing on seems to give some comment when I'm snapping some photo using the right angle/orientation, except when I'm focusing on multiple girls, can anybody confirm that?

all of my 3 stars are quick snapshots.
crinale02 29. mars kl. 9.21
For me, the Quick snap can be the easy way to get 95-100 points but highly dependent on the scene and sometimes Point to Focus.

Above 100 points and to get the Miracle Shot achievement, i guess only by manual shot and hope for the best.

Got the Miracle shot achievement now with 145 score:

I got 102 points but the achievement didn't pop. Does it need to be higher?

Yes don't know how much higher but 114 wasn't enough.

So from my experience these things do not influence the score of a shot whatsoever as I've taken the same photo just adjusting these things and it does not alter the score one bit:
1. ANYTHING from the menu, all the things to jazz up a photo like extra light sources, filters, stickers, and frames, so have at it for photos you take for yourself but they're a waste of time for photos for submission.
2. Focus, I've taken the same photo 3 times with really low focus to blur out all background items and really high focus to make the background objects clearer.. no effect on score.
3. Exposure, I can't be 100% sure about this one since a lot of my adjustments to exposure were minute and just "how it looked best to me" and almost always are in the negative range but going between -1 and -2 .. no change in score for the same shot.

So as far as I can tell, the things that matter are composition, and framing.. basically what is in the photo you're taking a picture of, a facial expression, more than 1 girl in a shot, an object held in the hand.. and angle and zoom distance. That's basically it.

wait, sorry,
the one i got 3stars 97score is default exposure.

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3452976983&fileuploadsuccess=1

the 2star next to it is 92score with -3 exposure.

wait, 92 score still 2star?

does this mean 95score and above only 3star ???

Seems the game treats the 3-star photo's background composition as "better balanced" than the 2-star (more "panoramic/landscapey" background i guess), although I personally prefer the 2-star myself.

Did you use the default F2.8 aperture ? I also want to know whether aperture use for blurring backgrounds will affect the photo score or not, or just photo framing/angling will affect the score.
I used default one.

Anyway I suck at taking pics.

>.<

I got lucky in chapter 1.

Chapter 2 and 3 I only got 1star
