The 2-star picture seems to be judged by the game as a "good" panoramic/wide-angle photo, I rarely got my wide-angle shot scored 2 stars too, maybe because of the pose / gestures from the girl interactions ?
The 3 star picture seems to be judged as a perfect framing/angle for a "wallpaper/pinup/calendar" style photography, while the 1-star seems too harsh to be judged 1-star lol.
I also have some exact time frozen photos with different exposure settings, (see the following link, the three nanami photos in the middle left)

but the same exact scores, but I tend to have much better scorings with underexposed photos for morning/day shoots (placebo effect? I dunno) so if anyone could confirm no changes in scoring from exposure settings, that would be great.
Ahh, the game factors only framing, angling, gestures/poses and face expressions only then. thanks. Timing the freeze frame for the right moment is also very important I guess, since many of the better scored shots seems to be in a blink or miss moments in my case.

Also, there's certain "correct" angle range in the game scoring system if this is true

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3453834132 Same scene, slight angle adjustment.
No aperture or exposure adjustment used in my current chapter playthrough, just angle and rotation (yes, I've just realized I can rotate the camera to take picture in "portrait" mode after seeing other people's pictures, smol brain moment).
The girl I'm focusing on seems to give some comment when I'm snapping some photo using the right angle/orientation, except when I'm focusing on multiple girls, can anybody confirm that?
Why do my pics get such low scores?

Above 100 points and to get the Miracle Shot achievement, i guess only by manual shot and hope for the best.

1. ANYTHING from the menu, all the things to jazz up a photo like extra light sources, filters, stickers, and frames, so have at it for photos you take for yourself but they're a waste of time for photos for submission.
2. Focus, I've taken the same photo 3 times with really low focus to blur out all background items and really high focus to make the background objects clearer.. no effect on score.
3. Exposure, I can't be 100% sure about this one since a lot of my adjustments to exposure were minute and just "how it looked best to me" and almost always are in the negative range but going between -1 and -2 .. no change in score for the same shot.
So as far as I can tell, the things that matter are composition, and framing.. basically what is in the photo you're taking a picture of, a facial expression, more than 1 girl in a shot, an object held in the hand.. and angle and zoom distance. That's basically it.
Anyway I suck at taking pics.
>.<
I got lucky in chapter 1.
Chapter 2 and 3 I only got 1star
