Placing new shelves

Please sort out the placement of new furniture, I have seen the picture where you show a picture showing the message "item is to far away or colliding with another object"

To far away from what?
Colliding with what invisible object?

I have a level one shop that has the original 4 shelves and 2 fish tanks and the cash register, I should be able to place new tanks or shelves anywhere within the shop providing I am not crossing the catchment area of other shelves
Please check any of the many, many shop sims that have been released recently, you have a shelf in your store, you buy a new one and place it next to it, quite simple really.
