Performance fix
So I bought this again given the extreme sale discount, & of course the terrible optimisation issues are still present since when I last bought it months ago. Without being rushed with the 2 hour refund window this time, I looked into it some more. What struck me as really odd before was that enabling DLSS actually reduced game performance, & caused more performance issues. In fact, setting every graphics option to low did virtually nothing to improve the frame rate, or stuttering. After also noticing my fans barely turned on playing the game, I looked at CPU & GPU utilization to see they were stuck at like 40%.

Something, something, etc.... I'm actually tired, so I'll just cut this short - I've found out how to fix this, & am now playing the game maxed out with DLAA (minus ray tracing) with 90% of the stuttering/fps drops fixed. It's not even a good game, but I was just too stubborn to let it go without getting to the bottom of it... I'm not really even sure why I wasted my time with it tbh. Problem being it causes issues running the game without workarounds; & I'm not sure it's even worth posting a modded fix for the game at this point, because there's virtually no one left to play it.... Any ETA on that offline update (official source, I mean)? Feels like I'd be wasting my time trying to create fixes without it. & yeh, I know there's bypasses/mods for the game already, etc....I just don't expect the average user to understand or bother with them, let alone the 50 or people left actually playing the game.

I'm going to bed. Too tired. I'll maybe come back to this, because I'm just rambling & can't think straight when I'm this tired. If there's an official source on the offline mode ETA then respond with a link/source, otherwise don't bother. I'll see how I feel when I'm less tired/lazy, but I don't think I can be bothered creating a fix for the game without it. I have my suspicions offline mode is just a broken promise at this point. I'll just leave this up as a personal reminder if I can be bothered coming back to it. I dunno, whatever :lunar2019crylaughingpig:

Offline mode should happen in January/February 2025 most likely.
It's also not sure if it includes all the seasons, it could also be a straight "only story" offline mode, we don't know yet.

"IS AN INTERNET CONNECTION REQUIRED TO PLAY SUICIDE SQUAD: KILL THE JUSTICE LEAGUE?
An internet connection will be required to play Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League or via online co-op at launch. However, an offline story mode will be added post-launch in 2024 giving players the option to experience the main campaign without an internet connection. More details will be provided at a later date."

I got the game for free on Prime Day (EGS), installed EACbypass, saw the performance on my system (13700K/4090), still played like 50 minutes and decided it's not worth the trouble, will never look back.

"I've found out how to fix this"
A wall of text and doesn't mention the fix, lol.

I'll tell you the fix. Bypass EAC, use LukeFz's mod to inject Frame Gen, enjoy.
Or don't bypass EAC and use AMD's AFMF2 or Lossless Scaling Frame Gen to add FG that way.

Also, got a 4000 series, & yeh, the performance is trash on high end setups. Now that I've slept on it, here's what I've concluded - I'm going to wait & see what happens with this 'offline' mode. I suspect it might be a passive-aggressive heel dragging deployment; that's technically what it says it is, but isn't really that in practical terms. That, or they just go back on their word. The only reason this always online/EAC junk exists in the game is to protect the microtransaction/monetization model. No other reason. Reminds me of MK11 in that regard (same publisher).

If it's proper offline mode/no longer requires EACbypass, then I'll come back to this. I think this game has potential if the modding scene is blown wide open, & therefore fixing the performance would be worth it in that scenario. But for now, there's a chance they might patch any modding/performance fix out, when the game isn't even in a state to be worth it right now (but might be later though).

Best case scenario, they just give all the battle pass content away for free on the final offline update (something like Avengers did), but I'm thinking this is probably way less likely. I know an 'offline' mode absolutely won't be happening until the monetization has run completely dry. They're probably trying to bleed a stone at this point & recoup whatever losses they can lol, but all the battle pass content looks utter trash, & will be redundant the moment a proper offline mode arrives. I mean, why would you buy any of that junk when you could just unlock/download stuff way better for free...? I know this is what they're probably thinking/worried about, too.

I guess it's unlikely again, but hopefully it moves to a Steamworks back-end online integration, too (though P2P/netcode might be iffy, haven't even checked any of that yet). I'm not really even interested in coop, so it doesn't bother me personally, but would likely fragment/kill the modding scene if it's still dependent on their servers in any capacity.

Too many variables, rly..... & I'm too lazy to articulate most of them lol. I'm thinking if it's like EA/NFS Unbound that also has an 'offline' mode, but with a whole bunch of lame caveats (but acceptable/permissible enough that the modding scene is still good enough; even if you take it online again/want to play multiplayer/work on the battle pass), then it might be worth looking at again. On the other hand, if it's basically a fake 'offline' mode; something more akin to Hitman, that effectively ruins the game 'offline'/cripples content, then it won't be worth wasting any more time on.

I guess it's just a wait & see situation. Good news is that it's UE4, so documentation/modding/fixing stuff is going to be relatively easy (assuming WB don't do anything to ruin that & get in the way with restrictions). I'm rambling again (more for my own benefit to whiteboard scenarios for later if I come back to it lol)....

Anyway, fingers crossed we get the dream outcome where they remove Denuvo, EAC, & online WB server handshakes of any kind, I guess. I mean, if the game is already dead on final 'offline' update, anyway, why be dks about it & ruin it for potential players/modders that are left..... At least they could still create some good will for future games/branding/sales bought for modding. But then again, too often companies like WB are also notoriously stupid, & don't follow any rational logic, & instead would rather cut their nose off to spite their face/customers :lunar2019crylaughingpig: There's some hope with the recent Ubi reversal on the whole "you should get used to not owning any of your games, anymore" though. Battlefront II also did a nice u-turn as well, & they're both about as scummy as you get (though WB is probably makes it in that top 3 list as well haha).

I've seen too many other people complain about the terrible optimization/stuttering, to know it's not isolated. What's even sadder is that it wouldn't even be hard or time consuming for them to just fix it themselves.... it's a little baffling they haven't. I can't really make any logical sense of why they haven't already. It just doesn't make any sense, because even when I'm completely fk'd up & a total mess, I can still think & do way better than this lol. I mean, it'd only really take one reasonably intelligent person a day or two to fix. Whether the people working there are just completely Incompetent or lazy, who knows....

The game had a beta/internal testing... What the fk were QA team even doing other than seemingly getting high or sleeping on the job...? They must have been completely useless. Reminds me when I saw people come in to do a 'full days work', but really only did like probably 30mins of actual real work. What's even stranger is that a lot of these places are open office, & you can clearly see people just flagrantly messing around on social media, etc. Some even just flat out playing computer games.....during work hours lmao. I mean, I'm lazy as hell tbh, so I just can't really accept how so many other people out there can be so bad at doing things that I consider really easy....without even trying...& whilst I'm actually wasted lol.

This other time someone said they spent 2 weeks trying to solve a computer science problem which they eventually just gave up on because they couldn't figure it out (they had been working in that technical field for years btw, & I had barely even started). I remember literally figuring it out in less than 3 seconds, & thinking "surely it can't be this easy... or this has to be a prank...". I then spent the next few minutes ruminating on the falsifiability of my solution convinced it must be wrong lol, otherwise someone else would have figured it out already... I really have to wonder about other people at times. Even people I know that have a good university education, & have been tested in the 120-130 IQ/percentile range just seem dumb as hell when it comes to things like analytical problem solving or anything scientific (even when they've got way more experience or education in that field). It's like they can't do anything other than copy or follow instructions other people have laid out for them. I can't really even conceptualize what must be going on in other people's heads for 2 weeks in scenarios like that, other than basically just a hamster wheel spinning 'round & 'round in their skull during most of that time lol. It's honestly difficult to keep a straight face without dying laughing when I'm listening to other people's thinking at times. Everything feels so isolating at times.

Oh well, I meant to write a basic guide between doing other stuff, & now I just wasted more time going off on a random tangent instead lol. (This was originally supposed to be a quick edit on a previous post, but It's gotten out of hand like before, so I'm just going to leave it....what a mess lol).

Template - I'll maybe edit this into a quick fix optimisation guide later if I can be bothered (that doesn't require messing with game files or modding). It won't help much by itself though, so kind of feels like it's probably a waste of time.
