This trash is basically given away for free on other platforms while they beg for money after spending years and hundreds of millions on this garbage. Why would they cancel it? It's trash and a flop like this, and if they would cancel it, it just dead. Probably these servers will be closed eventually, those cost money also, and this sht will not improve. But it wiggles in agony for now, since they spent lot of money on it
It costs too much money to run a flopped game. More than they would gain. If it was really dead it would be cancelled like avengers game
WHO THE ♥♥♥♥ CLOWN EMOJID ME!!
Considering the current active playerbase it doesn`t seem sustainable, but I guess its the developers choice how long they want to keep the servers up. Probably at least for a year.
it's far easier for them to just keep things running as they are
this is pretty basic software dev stuff, the team has been wiped out and they will just drip feed the stuff that was already made to try and get any kind of coin off it seeing as they've already spent the money
there'll be a 2 more seasons tops and its done
No its not
Because game companies have indeed learned that when you advertise your game as a 'live service' model, and you OPENLY advertise content coming out for release, as a method to try to entice players....
....well, suddenly not releasing that content would open them up to lawsuits related to false advertisements and other such areas. They'd rather just continue throwing money into the fire, than risk a big lawsuit that would look even worse on them (Not to mention be a stigma on them that they don't follow through on promises, for future projects).
In this case, reputation is more important than money, and they'd rather burn cash here, than lose their reputation. Which is ironic, because the reputation they got from this game was already horrific...
It's just a lose-lose situation really, with picking the least painful option.
