this is a well known issue with 13900 and 14900 k and up
the fix is setting the powerprofile in your motherboard mobo. btw it is advised you do that. your cpu degradation will be great
https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-components/cpus/nvidia-blames-intel-for-gpu-vram-errors-tells-geforce-gamers-experiencing-13th-or-14th-gen-cpu-instability-to-contact-intel-support
this is an old article.
i have not researched it much, but been hearing about this problem almost daily.
long story short, the motherboards are "overclocking" the cpu way too much.
depending on your motherboard manufacturere they have a name for that option. and it needs to be disabled in bios
if i knew what mobo you had i would give you more info
it doesn't matter, the cpu is bad. if you're having problems why WOULDN'T you be researching? it's well known thing with 13th and 14th gen intel procs and even mentioned in the nvidia driver release notes where they are telling people to conrtact intel if you are having crashing while gaming or "out of memory" errors.
https://www.techspot.com/news/102611-nvidia-advises-crash-prone-cpu-owners-look-intel.html
intel is suppose to be making a second statement on it sometime this month.
https://videocardz.com/newz/intel-issues-its-first-statement-in-response-to-13-14th-gen-core-i9-cpu-stability-issues
and you can read about where it all started right here on steam in this thread

best option just buy a 13500k or 14500k use that until intel fixes their ish!
2 out of 10 14900ks are good enough
hopefully a pacthwill come out soon then
i guess it's like they say, you can't fix sutpid
because the people at nvidia, all the tech review sites that have done testing, computer techs and even intel themselves don't know what they're talking about.
meanwhile everyone running amd proc's don't have any of those problems.
but trusting idiots who made this game, is like sticking your thing in a meatgrinder.
i myself for various reasons prefer intel and run intel for 13 years now.
best advice is just to get a core i5 for the moment. wait for an updated bios and or new intel socket 1700cpus.
it wil cost you about 150 bucks to get a 12 13th or 14th gen cpu
if you must have a i7 or i9 if you search around you can get a 12th gen. trust me you wont notice the difference between 12th gen and 14th gen.
anywhoo you can either do that or trust the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ who made this game. i wouldnt trust these ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, making a game when non super powered people can kill flash, when he litterally showed you how he took a mans heart out without noticing anything
is like trusting a 2 yetar old with a pencil and your tax forms and sending it to the government
i hear ya, i'd even say, if you HAVE to stay with intel, maybe even go with a 11th gen so you aren't forced to use windows 11 and don't have to worry about e-cores screwing with game compatibility.
not sure why anyone would want a chip that pulls 250w+ anyway. that's just ludicrous. and with this whole reliability thing now, i don't know why anyone would even be considering intel at the moment. amd's killing it right now with power efficiency and game performance. especially the x3d models with the 3d v-cache.
but holding off for a while!
windows? hahaha there is 0 reason to have windows these days. for me personally i had 1 reason! to play the crew 2, but ubisoft took away my copy of the crew 1. so they can ♥♥♥♥ off
there are a relative few games that cant run on linux these days, friend of mine was so sick and tired of windows, he got linux but couldnt play rainbow six siege so he bought a 2nd computer just for that. so windows is completely sandboxed
It most definitely is not a problem with "game optimization".
Your CPU is impacted, in all the ways people have already provided link evidence for. Intel and motherboard manufacturers are quite aware of the problem, which is rooted in CPU voltage caps not being set as per the Intel spec. The motherboard manufacturers have set it to unlimited.

Be as blase about it as you like but I guarantee your CPU is being fried whilst its being used and it will get worse. How do I know? Because I had exactly the same problem and it fried *three* 13900k CPUs since November 2022.
The problems will start small. Only some games are sometimes affected. Then more games are more often affected until every DX12 game that uses shader compilation and decompression will 100% crash out.
but one thing we preach for is customrs right, voting with yoru wallet. we are on the side of the customers.
we are just trying to help op!
out of video memory error on unreal engine game. when you have enough video memory. which a 4080 sure as damn has
points to your cpu not what the devs did or did not do.
and it starts with 1 or 2 games. and degrades and if you keep using the pc at high load for a while it will show up in more gmaes
underclcok your cpu ASAP! or get a i5 for the moment
maybe you dont care about 400-500 dollar cpu. maybe it is nothing for you but for some it is a lot. just dont use your cpu and wait for a stable good bios update
seems asus has provided new bioses but those bioses also cause instability as they underclocked it too much
