So yeah, before an offline patch hasn't arrived I hardly suggest to not spend a single cent on these games.
They only make these "Promises" of an Offline Mode because they hope enough People will still be convinced to Buy it, but if that does not happen (like with Redfall and this Game) they will just pretend it never happened. After all what do they care if they upset a few Hundred people at most.
Sadly all you can do is take this as a Learning Experience. Corporations will NEVER look out for the Customer, they only care about Profits. Your Wallet is the only Language that they care to listen to, so learn to Speak with it.
Promises to release a patch later are worthless if not enforced in some way.
Whats ridicilous is that a lot of games actually run all logic locally and dont actually need to fetch any data from network since the data saved is entirely local - remember when we called progression a "save" and not a profile or account ?
Got burned REAL bad by Ubisoft, multiple times. They took away my DLC for Assassin's Creed 2, Brotherhood, and Revelations that I paid for. They shut down The Crew, which I paid for and had bought multiple items in via micro-transaction currency. They shut down The Division, which I paid for. It's like Penguin Books coming into my library and stealing all my Shakespeare plays and Jane Austen novels. "You were just renting them from me, scrub. You need to get used to not owning things."
All in all, Ubisoft has taken away my access to hundreds of dollars of game purchases, and no consumer watchdog group gives a DARN. Not yet, anyway. Not yet.
I have no faith in WB keeping the servers up after this game stops releasing new content. None. They'll do me dirty, just like Ubisoft.
If WB wants me to eventually buy this game for a heavily discounted price and play it out of morbid curiosity, like I did with Saints Row 2022 after Volition got shut down, I'm going to need to know that my purchased copy is MINE to use whenever I wish. Not a "rented" copy that can be revoked whenever WB so pleases.
Nothing you buy digitally is really safe.
Sony and Studio Canal literally removed many purchased titles from me:

Warner Bros. Discovery had the same controversy, but they came to an agreement before the removal:

Studio Canal stuff was removed on 31.08.2022 though. Purchased videos.... nice, huh?
So yeah, with online only singleplayer titles I'll be extra careful.
Only reason I'm still here is Valve, so far they've done a pretty good job at being fair.
Man... I'm sorry to hear that those companies did you like that. Total suckage.
I've been grateful that Valve does its best to not screw us over. Some things get through, like Rockstar patching massive amounts of music out of the Grand Theft Auto games, but by and large my game collection here is still fully functional. Even when a company de-lists a product, I get grandfathered in and keep access to my license.
I tend to buy most of my games on this service because of that. Valve and Steam have done right by me for 17 years now. I wish I could say the same about Ubisoft. :-/
