Confused about Mastery Levels

OK so im legit confused when it comes to Mastery Levels.

I didn't do a lot of grinding like im only about Mastery Level 5 if i remember right.

My question is : how do we unlock higher masteries ?

Are they only unlocked by doing the regular missions ?

You need to kill Brainiac to unlock mastery.
To kill Brainiac you need rank 35

it was confusing to me at first and I played Finite Crisis for Bane Infamy Sets up to Finite Crisis 100. For Season 1, you won't unlock Mastery Level until you reach Fear Level 35. You can only play up to Sweating Bullets difficulty until then.

Once at Fear Level 35, you are able to access the rescue the Joker mission on the Map. Once that is completed, you become Fear Level 40 and Mastery Level 3. You can then play Incursions at their highest available Mastery Level as before to rise in rank.

No, in Finite Crisis you want to do all three Incursions each at the highest available difficulty. For example, if you completed Invasive Species at Mastery 10, now do World's Un-Fair at Mastery 12, etc.

But I am Finite Crisis 100 on Earth-2 and I'm Fear Level 60 in Season 1's Joker World because they are separate Earths.

No, in Finite Crisis you want to do all three Incursions each at the highest available difficulty. For example, if you completed Invasive Species at Mastery 10, now do World's Un-Fair at Mastery 12, etc.

They're not regular missions, they are Incursions. Yes, you need to do all three of those while raising the Mastery Level each time -- Invasive Species, World's Un-Fair, and Sending a Signal. It doesn't matter what order but they all need to be completed one at a time. Repeating the same Incursion will not get you anywhere. For the pre-season for Bane Infamy Sets that is the only way to increase both Mastery Level and Finite Crisis.

Season 1 added new Incursions so you have more options than just three. That was one of the complaints about endgame before Season 1. For example, you could now safely ignore Ivy's plant mission and the two cannon sabotage ones and just focus on the three missions left where you kill a number of aliens. Even then you need to make sure you're doing each individual one at a higher Mastery Level to continue to progress.

Your Mastery Level is separate for each alternate Earth. Pre-season is Bane Infamy Sets from Earth-2 and the Mastery Level is paired with Finite Crisis. Season 1 is Scarecrow Infamy Sets from Joker Earth and the Mastery Level is paired with Fear Level.

I am Finite Crisis 100 and Mastery Level 35 in the pre-season. I am currently Fear Level 60 and Mastery Level 13 in Season 1.

Like to get higher mastery levels in season 1 i just gotta do the same regular missions + fear incursions and then i can unlock higher Mastery Levels WITHOUT having to unlock those same Mastery Levels in FINITE CRISIS ?

Like i can be Mastery Level 5 in FINITE CRISIS and i can still get to Mastery Level 20 in SEASON 1 like WITHOUT achieving Mastery Level 20 in FINITE CRISIS alone before that ?

Yeah, they're treated separately. You select which alternate Earth you want to rank up in.

There are some conditions regarding the pre-season in that eventually you will hit a soft-lock at Mastery 10 where you must complete Mayhem at Mastery Level 10+ (kill Brainiac Flash mission) in order to continue with your Mastery Levels.

For Season 1 they changed it and made it so you can only play at up to Sweating Bullets difficulty to reach Fear Level 35. Only after you Rescue the Joker (kill Brainiac Green Lantern) do you unlock Mastery Levels.

Correct, you can just keep with Season 1 and increase your Mastery Level as long as you do three different Incursions until you are the highest available Mastery Level. Then you do three Incursions at the next highest available Mastery Level, and repeat.

Regular missions will not increase your Mastery Level. Those will only affect your Fear Level and Battle Pass.

Your questions been answered numerous times now, why don't you start the game and figure it out quickly? It's really not that hard, I've just finished the main story when season 1 started, and I could understand how it works.
