This is my personal "issue".
She does a great job in the games she's in.
But She's in so many high profile stuff that in Star Wars I'm just thinking: "Hey, she's from Wolfenstein ot these other 50 properties".
At some point I'll just see the actress instead of the character and it can take me out of stories.
Same with Norman Redus in PT or Silent Hills, I did not like that because I saw it as: "Daryl in Silent Hill".

Eh... just like I love seeing my favourit actors on the TV screen or on the PC (hello, Johnny) I do not mind seeing Debra in my games. I kind of see her as one of the "better ones" in the acting profession. And while I do not like most of the roles she takes, it's always the writers fault for putting her into those. She is literally making the best out of it. It's not like she writes the blackbosslady roles for herself. So if its not her, you will see others taking those god awful roles... and those could be way way worse

I see where you're coming from and I agree with you, I far prefer what companies like Rockstar do which is go out of their way to cast actors that most people would not at all be familiar with. I just didn't see much of a reason to single out Debra Wilson like op was doing.

God of War is a great game and was well reviewed by many for a reason. Personally I couldn't get into Jedi Fallen Order but I see the appeal especially for Star Wars nerds.

Still, why single out Debra Wilson? If you don't want celebrities/known actors in games then just say that instead but she's a fine actor and there was nothing wrong with her performance here.

Yeah, I like the unknowns in video games better too.
Unless it's based on a movie and the actors reprise their roles.

And I've been thinking about it, but at the moment I can't think of anyone else that I recognise from multiple games apart from Debra.
So she does seem like a good example for my "issue".
But it has nothing to do with a single actor/acttress or their ability to act.
Definitely nothing to do with [insert ethnic group here].
If they had a completely fictional model that they kept usining in a lot of high profile stuff, I'd say the same.
I mean, does anyone watch a The Rock movie and see the character he's trying to portray.
Most of us probably just see The Rock. (in another jungle or the same jungle, probably)

I just hope it doesn't become a trend in video games.

If someone was like "black this, black that" you'd be yelling "racist!" also, did the world forget that there are other races? it's not just black and white. But I like how that if someone says "racist" it quickly has to do with someone who is white/black.
