I don't understand why this game failed

I absolutely loved every second of it. The writing may not be perfect, but it easily beats Arkham trilogy. Sadly, people nowadays don't appreciate good gameplay and storytelling. I hope WB makes a sequel soon.

some people say because it was live service.(which might play a part but isnt hell divers live service??

some like me might say it is because of woke writing(averting the male gaze, intersectionality and diversity for diversity sake) but then i see hades 2 is KILLING IT!

Regardless if you liked it, it would be just dumb of WB to make a Sequel of this. I guess if they just LIKE to watch Money Burn then sure, but most Companies like Money.

So I suspect a troll. But even if the core gameplay loop is good (I haven't played so cannot say), it is asking a large price for a low amount of repetitive content. Which is already a hard sell, then add the story which the in built Arkham fanbase was not thrilled about (especially once how it was executed became known).

But the real kryptonite bullet was the game just doesn't show well. Even if it is fun to play when you get your hands on it, watching gameplay in trailers or unedited, simply looks like a confusing mess of colours and noise and decidedly not fun. It may be the kind of game you need to play to understand, and once you do it is great. But add the above issues to this and you have a recipe for low sales.

and that would explain it right there. most people feel the Arkham trilogy is the far superior product. i can explain why i didnt enjoy the game and honestly, feel like theres little to no reason for me to return.

as far as a sequel i wouldnt hold my breath. this contributed to a 200 million dollar loss. rocksteady might go under because of this. miller ross even leaked the game will shut down early next year.
