It's actually.. genuinely fun..
I bought the game because it was on sale, and I was pretty much set on refunding the game before I hit the 2 hour mark. Well, I played it and I can honestly confirm it's an enjoyable game.

I already know the entire story as I watched it on YouTube when the game had launched, and I'm not too happy about the ending and the way certain characters are treated, but honestly when I overlook the FanBoy ultraego of trying to fanfic my own story I genuinely think what's written here isn't even that bad. And from what I played I don't really see myself refunding, in fact I'm probably going to be playing more.

So if anyone is considering getting it on sale while it's extremely cheap, well now is the time to try it out and be surprised by how fluid the game is and honestly enjoyable.

I appreciate that these might be low bars, but, so far, the gameplay, combat and general mechanics feel much better than games like Gotham Knights and Avengers.

I'm not too far into the game, but the story is interesting, the JL heroes feel ridiculous more powerful than I am (as expected), combat is chaotic and has lots of verticality to require good use of the traversal system during fights. Each character's differing traversal helps make combat feel different enough for each of them.

Exactly, the loud minority that think their hate for the game publicly will somehow get them to Heaven or some ♥♥♥♥ are the ones making it look bad, the game's stupid fun, story is decent, gameplay is good, as Calv mentioned, previous games in the universe were far far worse yet are now being praised.

I don't think the hate alone killed it. That obviously didn't help at all, but if it had a good design, mission structure and proper (stopping point) ending at release it could have weathered the storm.

There simply wasn't enough variety at release for what they were charging. And far too many bugs

right, im having fun, bought on sale not full price tho, i get the hate for microtransactions and ending but still story is fun gameplay is fun...thats what games are for to have fun... I will probably stop playing after ending anyway if there is nothing much to do like other games but still worth it for me on sale

The issue I see most for those that do enjoy the Game, is that it fails as a Live Service, and that is what WB wanted. I think if they had made this as a Co-Op Looter Shooter with a Finished Story, it would not have been such a Failure.

WB wanted this to be a Live Service Game that keeps everyone Playing and Buying for Years to come, and that clearly is not going to happen. Sadly though the Budget was to Bloated for them not to try and push for Renewing Monitization.

I think the game has one main live service aspect that was decent, the infamous weapon/brainiac meta. I don't think it would have worked in a left for dead clone, without being stupidly grindy. Overall SS:KTJL is a live service you play for a few hours on a weekend and stay caught up without any major grind, and if you want to play more you can for some reasonable rewards.

Too bad there are no reasonable rewards... (where are all the cosmetics, because they ain't in the store)

Too bad it's a free-to-play game that they charged $70 for.

I'm glad you remaining 200 people who are still playing actually enjoy this game and find it fun . Don't let the minority haters tell you what to not enjoy.

Decided to do a wellness check.

You okay OP? You seem to have not played this amazing game for a few days now. Pretty worrying.

It's the 6th today. Last played was the 5th. Get a life, I'd take you a bit more serious if you didn't have 300hrs on Fallout 76.

And nobody claimed this to be amazing, you're just a sad lonely person living off of the only amusement you can get from insuring nobody enjoys a game you never had any plans of getting. Do yourself a favor, get a wellness check. Can't imagine my mental state being sane after that many hours on a bugtheada game.

Eh, 76 got better after Wastlanders Update, but went to Crap after the inclusion of Expeditions. It is a horrible Buggy mess though, but I still had fun, just like you are having fun in this. I can say I got my 8$ worth out of it before Uninstalling it.

I am all for everyone having Criticism of a Product and Company, but people should be left out of it. Let people enjoy Bad Games if they want. Let the Market Decide who is right or wrong at the end of the day and keep Personal Attacks out of it.

No, Sweet Baby Inc killed this game. People play games for escapism, not to have "the message" shoved in their faces. Larry Fink can "force" his message into games but he can't force people to buy them.

There's a rumor that the studio is shutting down or at very least downsizing which comes as no surprise considering they lost over 200 million dollars on this. This will be a good lesson for other studios, these consultancy firms might get your ESG score up, but all that's not going to help you if nobody wants to play the game. You're better off doing your own thing and making a good product.
Night Knight Jun 6, 2024 @ 12:38pm
it really isnt though. new character drops or it goes on sale and the player count slightly rises then falls off a cliff again. it isnt hate. the game is just bad.

Hogwarts had hate and the game thrived. a good game will always beat hate especially if the hate is coming from nothing more than a vocal minority. that just isnt the case here..
