What did they do during 9 years?
I'm watching some reviews of the game and one thing I keep thinking is "what did they do during 9 years serisously ?"

It can't be possible that the game took them 9 years to make. The game seems empty, repetitive and uninspiring.

I'm glad I did buy it based on all the reviews I have seen so far.

I'd say about the same thing the team behind Skull & Bones did. Imagine taking that long and still producing a game worse than one that came out a decade ago and calling it AAAA.

I'm going to guess, arguing. A lot of arguing and tug and war over what the game should be.

They bought a lot of fancy hipster coffee in london.
This is what happens when MORONS handle a good IP to put it to waste and ruin the franchise.

I mean look at Warner Bros. Games Montréal, Creators of Arkham Origins 2013 game,

They did the same to them the New Creative Leads then went to make Gotham Knight which you can tell it was some weird Frankenstein thing changing aim mid development.

And what is there to show for it?

For nine years they carried on about flats and pubs and rainbow flags.

The game probably took several major changes of direction during development, causing them to scrap previous work and start over. I'm guessing the biggest delay was WB's decision to change the game's format to a live service looter shooter from the traditional single player campaign. Years of work can be lost when a game changes it's core focus.

They should have changed it's direction into a toilet.

Finding jobs elsewhere, what you're seeing is a game developed by the husk after all the talent left.

They move their "friends'' into Wonder Woman and MK1 which they changed the MK1 remake into a Multiversed Matriarchy New story and sold it as the Remake.

Same may happen with rocksteady the ''friends'' will get moved to the new Wonder Woman game and ruin that.

I'd love to know exactly what happened. They must have restarted at least a couple of times. One thing we know for sure is at one point there were going to be even more LS elements than what we got and a lot of that was stripped out.

What they delivered surely can't be more than 2/3 years worth of work, The rest can only have been thrown away.

the company founders were ousted a few years ago. the nosedive in suicide squad probably happened afterwards when the woke took over.

They could have tried back peddling to take out a few of the more egregious predatory practices after the huge blacklash, i'm not sure though, i think they did panic after people weren't as stupid as they thought..

Game dev cycle is slow but Arkham VR only came out on PC in April 2017. So that takes this game to a more typical current AAA ~6 years albeit longer if you count the work which goes into prototyping and planning etc (which would be a weird thing to do for anything but hyperbole).

Sure there's lots to be said about development, and any major rework would eat into that time available (initial launch date was to be May 2023), but it's not quite the lengthy development some seem to be imagining.
