I don't really put my hope in any of their hands, unfortunately this is the timeline of Rocksteady SSKTJL. & that Gotham Knights that just kicked me out of the game for match making even though i'm on Solo Single player mode.
I think you've just stated that consumers can't tell the difference in the quality of things, which is exactly how we ended up getting games like Suicide Squad. Why wouldn't they believe such things about you, when you believe them about yourself?
People like good things, not things that suck
That's a big chain of big ifs. I don't agree. I think names like Booster Gold are valueless. I think a Solo Leveling movie would sell 14x a Booster Gold movie right now. American comic fans tend to be a bit in the past.
My main point is that for a story - a video game, a movie or whatever - to be successful, it needs to meet a certain quality threshold. It doesn’t mean that every genuinely great movie or game will be successful and popular, just like it doesn't mean that Avengers is the greatest cinematic masterpiece of all time, because it made so much cash in box office – hence, quality =/= success. Aquaman, regardless of my opinion about it, met this threshold – it was a fun summer blockbuster, that a lot of people liked. Suicide Squad game, on the other hand, didn’t meet it. They are both stories about less popular characters, yet the reception is different.
You've said that DC only has Batman and Superman and everything else will most likely flop, because people aren’t interested – I’m saying that there are examples of movies and games that’ve featured both, yet failed, just like there are examples that featured neither and succeeded. It goes beyond name recognition and mostly depends on execution.
I know it looks so great! I'm really hyped for it, even if it seems more Xena than Diana I don't care. I only Xena cause she was a rip off of WW!
I hope it will show that people want a Superman game too, but I don't know how the nemesis system would work with him... unless they just made it like Intergang members so defeating you boosts their status among other criminal's
Very few DC Fans even care about Aquaman, heck even DC Comics doesnt have an Aquaman Comic right now. At the time it was the Hype, along with Jason, that made that Movie Money. If he was Popular then the Second Movie would have done well.
Casual Superhero Movie Fans only cared because they thought it was part of the Continuation of the DCU, but once the Snyderverse was Canned they all noped out. Thanks to Super Friends Aquaman has always been a Joke ever since I was a Kid. Even when they tried to Edge him up in the 90's most still didnt care. He has his Fans, but he is about as big of a deal to DC as Antman is for Marvel.
Wait really? I never had that issue with Gotham knights... it runs horribly, my steam deck sounds like a jet engine. It is not very well optimised even at the lowest settings but it never booted me?
And I think Gotham Knight's while it definitely didn't stick to the character backstories fully had a lot of respect for the characters and the audience at least.
This game I don't think respects the characters at all...
But this team isn't making wonder woman! So fingers crossed its good
That'd because American comics aren't very good right now. Current batman is genuinely unreadable.
But Jay garrick has been great.
And the Eastern market is picking up slack appealing to teenage boys which western media in general refuses to.
You suggested there is/will be as much continuing appreciation of the Aquaman movie as there is for the Keaton Batman movies, which I think is a bizarrely ludicrous thing to say, and incorrect.
Let's be honest, the last really good storylines were in the 1980's. They're just dead walking, really.
Lmao I totally forgot they were in that! I also think Xena is probably the only rip off that was actually good and kept the spirit of the og!
Back when knock offs were still quality
I don't agree. I quite liked a lot of stories in the 2000s. And supersons was great. Even enjoyed a few things lately like Superman lost by Priest and Jay Garrick's the flash that's still ongoing. Batman and joker deadly duo was recent enough too and I really really liked that. One of the only times I wasn't disgusted to see the joker show up
Same with current Superman has been pretty decent although not the best stories ever. Batman and Robin has been really good too. Ultimate spiderman is genuinely amazing so far (only two issues recently tho)
The characters are just retreads for far too long at this point, it's just boring in general. Manga is interesting because almost all manga lasts for a few years, not just running the same characters into the ground for literally a hundred years now in the case of Superman.
A guy called Superman who is like a "super" version of a man. Super interesting in 2024.
