They ruined Harley Quinn's aesthetics
Alright, let's dive into the topic of Harley Quinn. I've been pondering about the evolution of her character design. She was initially portrayed as this alluring, seductive figure, right? But then, something shifted. It's like they decided to completely revamp her aesthetics. And it's not just her, this trend seems to be happening across the board in many games.

As a woman, I find myself particularly invested in the representation of female characters and protagonists in games. They're not as common as they should be, and when they do appear, their portrayal matters. So, it's frustrating to see these changes that seem to diminish their appeal.

There's this idea floating around that maybe feminists are behind these changes. But is that really the case? And if it is, why? Why would people feel so insecure about themselves that they'd feel compelled to alter the aesthetics of game characters? It's a complex issue, and I think it's worth exploring further.

It's because, at the end of the day. The people upset at these fictional representations are often mad that they're usually 4's, 5's, or even 6's out of 10's. Not ugly, but not *Insanely attractive* either. They're mad that people want to look at attractive people, and they're mad that people don't look at them like that. The "Its just objectifying" is an excuse, and it always has been. This is especially true for anyone over a certain weight that proscribes to the "Healthy at any size" ideology.
Fat people who think being fat is healthy are not right in the head. Our own body is fatphobic and it shows, yet they still hold on to this delusion.

Ironically, most "Fat activists" are kinda...well, they're finding out that being fat *is* infact, unhealthy in the most direct and irreversible way possible. A lot of them are suffering from heart attacks and strokes.
I like that Arkham's interpretation of Harley Quinn became the norm after Margot Robbie popularized the character further and she's since become one of my favorite characters in the DCU.

Unfortunately this game is going too far into a direction I'm just not a fan of whatsoever. I hate the weirdo buns, I hate the shaved bit because it makes no practical sense even looking at it and I especially hated how they tried to pull a DmC with her OG outfit at the start of this game. I'm also not a fan at all at how much they are trying to emulate HBO Harley right down to the weirdo Ivy obsession that feels out of place knowing this is a follow-up to the Arkhamverse.

I would say this is easily the worst incarnation of Harley Quinn I've seen thus far barring any media I've overlooked. Too many inconsistencies with pre-established lore, absolutely horrendous hairstyle and her cavalier attitude is honestly kind of grating after the first hour or two.

I really liked the suble melancholy Arkham Harley had and the gothic outfits and I wish they would have actually given us that Harley instead. Even mentioning offscreen character development really doesn't make much sense in this context because it almost felt like they exclusively watched HBO Harley to create this one.

Why must someone find out that being fat is unhealthy??? I will not believe that people are so clueless. I refuse to believe. 😨

There were a few that had youtube, talkshows and radio channels that pushed the narrative that being fat is healthy as well.
Those people died...
And i cant believe there are morons out there reaffirming to them that it's OK to be that way.
They are just pushing them to an early grave.

Its fine to be fat, so long as you accept that the world doesn't need to change for *your* body choices, and that its not healthy. Long as you accept that, I have no problem with a person deciding to be fat.
To recognise that it's not healthy is the important part.
I do not understand the affinity towards normalising it, because that can and does actually cause damage.

Because these people are so thin skinned that the idea that they're unhealthy *offends* them. The idea that its their choices in life that have led to them being unwanted offends them. The idea that people, in general, *normally* do not like obesity (yes, they exception is out there but as a rule most people are not attracted to obesity) offends them because *they're just as good as anyone else*.

The one point they make, is that I agree. People shouldn't shame people just for being fat, but making stuff for people of normal body sizes and not *Extreme outliers* is not "shaming" someone.

Have you seen some of them that said working out is fatphobic? lol

I did, and I had a good laugh. those people are delusional. I was fat once, then my wife and me tried the gym and now we are fit as hell. I feel better than ever. if those people are too lazy to workout, they really should stop ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on people who actually respect their body.

I'm still holding firm to the idea that our world is a beautiful mix of various degrees of attractiveness, and this applies to both women and men. It's like a spectrum, with so many different points of beauty to appreciate. So, when we talk about video games, we shouldn't limit ourselves to only featuring women who aren't considered traditionally attractive. Beauty isn't one-size-fits-all, it's diverse and multi-faceted. Just like in the real world, attractiveness in games should reflect the myriad of shapes, sizes, and forms that it takes in nature.

Just dropping a random comparison video below:
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/TdUa0sdWCzM

the arkham knight video is a perfect example of why I want skin tight spandex harley back. People need to stop getting upset when developers put attractive people in their games. Just say it with me, just like she-ra. *It wasn't made for you*. If the attractive person *offends* you, it wasn't made *For you*. Not every game has to be inclusive, diverse, and for everyone. Let the developers make the game they want to make. Even if its a woke game, if thats *Honestly* what they wanna make, let them shoot their shot and lets see what happens on the market.
Attractive people are a part of our world, just like everyone else. It's as ridiculous as getting upset because someone is black or white. That's just plain racism, right? And it's a pretty spot-on comparison because getting your knickers in a twist over attractive people is just as discriminatory.

Now, if game developers are starting to exclude attractive women from their games because they're supposedly "offensive", then I reckon there's something seriously off-kilter with their thinking. It's not just wrong, it's downright absurd. Attractiveness shouldn't be a reason for exclusion, it's as simple as that.
"it´s more realistic with unattractive women"

I don´t play games with people dressing up as bats fighting undead swamp zombies from the 1800´s expecting realism.

"yes this 100lbs woman dressing up as a latex cat and beating up 50 mobsters working for a man with flipper for hands man dressed as a penguin was really immersive and realistic until I noticed the suit was to sexy.that really took me out of it....I was like women don´t DRESS like that , and up until that point I thought it was based on real events."

I've yet to hear from those clowns why ugly or average-looking is "more realistic" than attractive. I'm pretty sure I see a ton of attractive people every time I go out, but it may have been my imagination...

nah it´s just them. There´s some gorgeous women working my local grocery store, and tech shop and at the gym..and the drive though. Oh yeah I see more attractive women during a day outside than in western games these days.

Though I think in this game wonder-woman and Harley has decent faces, though again in the the case of WW her face model is more attractive on her Instagram than they made the character in game so typical western studio taking a gorgeous model and not doing them justice. ( not as bad as mary jane or Aloy tho. Yikes!)

And I don´t like they deliberate made Harley´s and WW ´t outfits/body models so deliberately less sexy than they could have been and added that dumb scene w Harley and the locker to really rub it in they don´t want to appeal to male gamers.
yeah even as a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ GaS game I would have given this game a chance if not for that.

I remember when female super heroes and games characters where drawn to be super sexy.

(INB4 a gay autistic furry with pronouns in the bio comes in to call me a basement dwelling neckbeard chud who´s never touched a woman , whatever,)

^ lol, yeah gonna be funny when Stellar Blade sells a bazillion copies.
I am a rather horny man, huge lover of attractive females, and I am very pleased with Harley's portrayal in this game. Absolutely despised her AA outfit, AC and AK were okay. My personal favourite version of Harley is from GK though. Regarding SS, people need to remember that Harley is around 42 and spent 5 years in solitary. And I'd say she's looking very good. Also, not sure that I need to mention it, but I find women in Tekken series to be utterly unattractive.
