how and when to join a clan?

Hey Roie I was in only chapter 2 and was able to be invited into a clan already. I think as long as you had met Rick Flag in game and your social tab, world map, etc are accessible. You would need a clan leader to send you an invite and you will need to look for and accept that invite in your Social tab, under Requests.

The clan I'm in is full (16 members) but I saw this Reddit thread about clan inviting and its OP is currently pretty active. Try your luck there? Tell them your in-game name.
