Am I supposed to swap characters around when playing campaign?
I only play one character so far but my teammates (bots) seem to be using very under levelled gear.

I dont want to be switching characters at the moment but afraid they wont be powerful enough during boss fights. Am I supposed to swap around or something? Or completely ok to play one character first. Which is better? Thanks!

You don't have to swap characters at all, you can focus purely on the one you want to level first. Some areas force you to play as all 4 at one point but it's nothing too big of a deal, and they're relatively short.

It's not necessary, I stayed on King Shark the entire campaign. If you check the other's gear there's a checkbox to auto equip them with gear. Unfortunately most of the campaign drops gear only for who you're on.

IMO forget the side quests do them at the end. Get to a point where gear starts dropping for everyone. Also play on the hardest difficulty to unlock the next. Then as it suits you start switching characters for psyche up missions then go back to your main.

You can craft gear for them fairly easily.

They use extra gear you don't use, friends and clan members can replace your bots with their gear/cosmetics, basically as long as you play around with shark/deadshot or harley/boomerang (or simply craft their gear) you'll never have to worry about bots being useless. Otherwise you either spend a little time on one of the aforementioned couple or have friends/clan members to use.

Pretty much this. Need to play a bit until that feature becomes available in your base.
