The game is quite fun and much better paced at a higher difficulty. The voice acting is impeccable. The writing is mostly good with plenty of dialogue for NPCs and good banter throughout. Most people campaigning for the game to fail haven't played the game, have zero interest to play the game, and get their F2P experience by trolling forums and vapidly seeking validation for their lame protests and raging entitlement.

You can get the game for 18% off on GMG or full price on Steam with a refund guarantee. The opening of the game is pretty mediocre, but you should have a decent idea of performance (which, as of now, is all over the place if you want Raytracing) still within the refund window.

How is that predatory? All future content will be free, new characters, new maps, new story bits, everything will be free. Only thing that will require additional purchase are battle passes which only give extra skins. if you cannot contain yourself and FOMO for skins then that's a you problem, nothing predatory here.
