It's Gen Z Joker didn't you know?? It's a more progressive, insecure, feminist Joker.

He's from a different multiverse, he's not the joker you know. Honestly if you're going to involve the multiverse atleast let us pick what universe we want our characters from. Somepeople might want soyboy joker but some might want gym rat joker or high-tech joker etc... the options for each character could be limitless.

Beyond the obvious issues, I felt his Umbrella was just wrong. It looks more like a Batman inspired Umbrella then a Joker one.

I thought the umbrella was more a Penguin thing. Joker was more of a crowbar guy.

Joker? Don't be silly, it's clearly a brand new villain - the Jonkler.
Goodbye Rocksteady, you were one of the best companies to make video games. F for what they were and not what they became.

Agreed, I think having him use Balloons would have fit him better. They could explain it by maybe having him be a Cobblepot who became Joker instead, or maybe its a "Trophy" from his Universes Penguin.

Either way when I look at its Shape it looks like a Bat. Should be splattered with Green Paint and have a Smiley Face on it if its the Jokers.

what do you mean this is a joker for modern audiences. you just a bunch of straight masochansitic white guys! this is the poerfect joker for modern audiences! you look at him and expect him to pronounce his pronouns

I don't see the issue. The joker has nearly always been incredibly camp. Sure the old Mark Hamill version was awesome, but he's dead and changing the character makes narrative sense (as much as any multiverse storyline anyway). This version seems quite close to the 60's incarnation.

The main thing I get from that clips is affirmation of good the writing and cutscenes are and how awful the gameplay seems.

No, the Joker has not been "Campy" since the around the Early 80's. I never once took a look at the Joker from Death in a Family, and thought "Campy". That Joker is the one we have had, outside of some Cartoons, since.

Purple suit, flowers, flamboyance.. of course he is camp. Even the rocksteady Hamill version was camp. Look at his movement for example. Obviously there are varying degrees of campness across the jokers, down to almost zero in some cases.

When I was kid I used to watch the Batman tv show with Adam West. Cesar Romerer's Joker was a bit campy. I think it was with Tim Burton's movie Batman 1989 that his public perception took a more dark undertone. Then came the animated series that featured Mark Hamill as the Joker.

I think the design of this new Joker is okay. It's his voice and maybe the writing that kills it for me. They made this Joker insecure or something.

That because they kept the same look for the time he was Campy. Honestly though I find the look far more frightening because of how he acts. He uses those looks to deceive those who dont/didnt know who he was. Its a type of Psychological Horror at this point, nothing like the Adam West Batman Campy Joker.
Not hating on the new Joker bu for me if only Mark Hamill made this his last Joker since it is the last time we'll have a Kevin Conroy Batman. That laugh and his voice would've made it for me even though we know he died many Arkham's ago. We'd be in the true Arkhamverse's Jokers head. Just sounds dope and that suit as well was pretty slick. Hoping this game does well though. ^_^
