Stop trying to protect the man, he wasn't a child and no one disrespect him. If his legacy is a character he doesn't own, it no one's business to get butthurt on his behalf.
Because I'm sure he was pretty happy with his paycheck.
You realize he's dead right? He very much did not get paid, did not consent to this being how his voice was used, and did not agree to this.
This character was effectively his life's work, and was just cannonically dragged through the mud for shock value.
Speaking of... how is star wars doing? Or the last of us? Or the entire marvel franchise?
They're doing great after ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on their beloved characters with trash writing right?
The fact this is his life's work is irrelevant, it was a job.
The other points you made are irrelevant, I'm not talking about any IP. Just that Kevin did what he wanted. it's ok to dislike the narrative choice, but this disrespect talk is bs.
a game with awful characters who are just so hard to like with how just ♥♥♥♥ they are all the time (they really wanted to be guardians of the galaxy but guardians were likable characters) and to boot they also constantly spit quirky and snarky one liners written by literal children (such dialog like harly talking about how boomerang is stinky except for his boomerangs and him replying "im not stinky >:C i go where my boomerangs go including the shower").
if your argument is "well he got paid so no disrepect was shown" when you dont even realize that jobs like these are made under contracts and are pretty hard to opt out of and most of the story is left out before signing to keep the story secret or its just not finished yet. you also have the fact that when kevin is given jobs to voice batman he is just happy to do it hence why he was also in the batwoman (infinite tizims) where kevin plays a live action batman and his ending is that he was evil and crazy and he gets pushed over and dies. kevin DEFINITELY didint know what would happen and he has a bunch of statements about how excited he was to finally be a live action batman and every interview after is nothing but disappointment.
so to say that kevin wouldint be disappointed or feel sad that this was the end for his character just because he was paid is not only wrong but misinformed in the idea he knew it would end this way before signing.
The only thing we have for sure is, Kevin recorded his lines, and he got paid and it's more likely he read the script than his conclusion being something he wasn't aware.
His, was fictional character that he doesn't own, so he has really no business in getting butthurt, specially since he got paid.
There was no disrespect for him, nor the fictional characters he portrayed. Maybe it wasn't the best written scene. But you people are butthurt over nothing.
zero chance he signed on without reading the script or at least knowing where his character would go. that almost never happens
I'm not defending Rocksteady, I'm just making fun of your emotionally charged takes.
Poor Kevin, such disrespect, the man who literally got paid to do this role.
Hamill has said he won't reprise his role as Joker without Conroy; I can't wait for the uproar over it when they're inevitably brought back with AI.
