Thoughts so far (from playing PS5 version early access)
I only played for around 3 hours before i had to get some sleep but so far i think i'm happy with the game.

Overall presentation and polish is fantastic. It feels very much like a Rocksteady game in its presentation. It preforms incredibly well on the PS5 (so i'm sure the PC version will be even better) and looks stunning.

I think the game opens at a weak point and they should have cut it. It does the trope where it starts you off in the future with a bunch of powers and skills unlocked and then tries to cram you through a tutorial across all four characters before making you choose one.

I found this overwhelming and difficult to remember everything. I also didn't like being forced to commit to a character without having a good feel for things. It was also a little while before it then showed you how to switch characters.

When it gets past that the actual first mission / opening cut-scene and story is great and i really enjoyed it. The characters and writing is decent. Characters are funny. Everything feels very in line with the movie. I think they should have just started you here with a single character and gently trickled the tutorials / skills. Maybe its just me being slower at picking up game mechanics.

Gameplay so far feels like its going to be fun if not a little repetative. I enjoyed Gotham Kinights but got bored 2/3 of the way through and never finished it becuse everything felt too samey after a while and the combat felt too easy after a point.

My worry with this is that i'll feel the same at some point. The combat is already more fun and i love the use of ranged weapons mixed with close combat. The moves are fun and they have some nice functions in there like how to get armor off enemies or counter shots - and it feels like they are slowly introducing more stuff as the game goes on.

The opening section did feel pretty easy. Nothing was too much of a challenge. I'm sure this is by design but did leave me a bit worried that it won't improve.

I also tend to take my time in games and don't rush so i probably spent far more time in the first open world bit than the game wanted me to and it felt like i should have just bee-lined the main story at first because once i had completed that section things started to open up a bit.

The main hub seemed fun but fairly standard but this is what i was expecting.

All in all i'm happy with the purchase so far. Being on PS5 i can't refund (in my region) so i have to commit to this purchase which will no doubt influence my opinion of the game.

Looking forward to playing it later today when i get some time.

People are absolutely going to continue to find stuff to hate on because that is what they want to do.

I'm just leaving this here for anyone that is already interested or curious as a fairly honest first impression from someone that is generally positive and optimistic about games and also someone who found enjoyment in some of the biggest turds of 2023 like Forspoken, Redfall and.... dare i admit... but i even dragged myself through Gollum.

Happy to say this is better than all those but just for context - i'm not one to try and find fault in a game and i will try always to have fun with them.

Finally a fair and honest opinion these discussions are just filled with people hating on the game.

Getting it on PS5, but I gotta wait till Friday.
Also, it is good to see a reasonable topic about it outside of "Rage Bait" stuff out there!
I do believe I will be entertained by this game :D

Question since we are strangers to each other you know about the cyberpunk 2077 version for old gen consoles?

This is the most non review ive ever seen, so say you like X and Y but don't explain why or go in depth, you say that stuff is easy but don't say why it's easy and why it's a good thing or bad thing.
That's not how you do a review lmao.

Is that good for you?

For me that sounds good. I usually lock my games at 60fps on PC as its what my hardware seems to manage best.

eh, its acceptable i guess. my monitor is 240hz so i usually hope for ~120+. i used to have 1080p. so with 1440, its understandable itll be lower but still, with a 3070, the games should at least hit 100fps at high, especially if you use damn DLSS. its just the poor optimization of games lately, because the graphics are kinda similar to guardians of the galaxy game, so theyre not really all that impressive.
arkham knight was more visually stunning and prettier id say, but then again, i havent reached the open world yet.

DId you download latest Nvidia drivers yet?
I also always turn ray tracing off because its just garbage and does nothing but make things run like crap for very little upside.

I really don't mind the graphics in this and in Guardians.
What is it you don't think are that impressive out of curiosity? Im interested in what expectations are as i think this looks really nice and detailed.
