Change Government Type?

Is this possible? Like going from Democracy, to Republic, to Socialism, to Communism. Or anything in between? Or does it only switch to Dictatorship if I lose an election?

You can't change government types.

With a democratic region, if You lose the election there's an option to assume the control with a military action and became a dictatorship.
That's the only way to "change" the government.

You lose the game, because the only other option is "go to the main menu".

Just one reason SR fails compared to other title that do less like HOI. I love that I can play thru 100's of years and the tech tree is massive but other then that SR is a dry as the Mojave.

Sorry to hear that the game doesn't fit what you're looking for. We realize that it's a style that won't appeal to everyone but are thankful that the community support has gotten us more than a decade with the series.

Each additional option takes time to implement. Government changes have consistently fallen below the priorities for other features. It will likely be considered again for SRGW but too soon to say where it will land in the order of priorities.

We have announced that SR The Great War will be released this year. Stand alone title but code improvements for SRGW should mostly be added to SRU as well.

Dont get me wrong i love SR but it needs more ways for all the natins to interact, having 4 govenment types is a start democracy, dictatorship, communism, and manarchy. you have them in the game alreadt but they are just titles. The ability to infiltrate and possibly flip a countries political structure would give it A. that interaction and depth B. more ways to rule the world. The only other downside is it takes years of real life to play thru a game from ww2 till 2020, dont know if ther is a fix for that last one. I bought all your games tho even ultimate.

Then there is the fact you cant call your allies to aid you in a war. I mean if you had a syatem that worked it wouldnt be an issue but you dont. My proof is in the Trump scenario I have every treaty you can with East and West Allience, Canada, Mexico, Spain, Potugal, and Germany. yet everytime Trump declares war on me they ignore the allience, missle, and mutual defence pacts and let me fight it alone. What is the point in a treaty system that doesnt work. If I could call my allies to my war it would sovle the issue. Thanks god I can rename my counrty tho

Well thats what i think you guys need to fix and the community sure knows what you need to fix but will you fix it who knows. What i do know is i will be waiting a long time to pick up SR great war. Need to make sure you just didnt push out 2020 again with a new face.

If you look through the Steam discussions and the developer's forums, you'll see there are probably by now 1,000s of user-suggested improvements.

Obviously everybody is going to have their own opinions on what is or isn't a higher priority but that doesn't mean SRGW isn't going to be a further huge improvement. If you compare just SR2020 and SR:U alone, that "new face" you mention is actually a massive difference in making the game better.

Im sorry i didnt know you had more then 570 hours into SRU alone not to mention other SR titles. Oh wait thats me with 570 hours thats right!
