Missing/bugged units after strategic targeting

I was in the strategic targeting screen and I added my subs to the pool. For whatever reason I changed my mind and moved them back and the game bugged out. For all intents and purposes my subs have dissapeared. Most annoying is that they're visible in the unit selector under deployed but there seems to be no physical unit on the map. If I try and centre on them nothing happens and theres no line to indicate I can move them. They've completely vanished.

The unit selection UI is unintutive and claustrophobic enough without imagnary units cluttering it up. I've played the UK from 1949 to 1976 so I'd be super appreciative if someone has a fix or workaround. Unforunately I didn't notice straight away so my autosaves have overwritten themselves with issue my last fall-back point in terms of a clean save was about 4 hours of game-play ago

I did convert the save into a sandbox scenario and launch without units, which fixed it, but instantly world events began spiralling out of control due to the wars that were already in underway.

Anyone else experienced this?

I would like to take a look at your save file to see exactly you are seeing. Any chance you would load it to Filedropper.com?

To make them easier to spot I've reserved all my units, the bugged units are the only ones left. There's 10 subs of various classes and 2 escort ships.

That is a proper issue. They are stuck somewhere and are not able to be interacted with.

I found this and several other posts on the BattleGoat website, it was reported before, back in 2014. But it seems like it was fixed. No other reports of it since then, that I can find.
