Minister Priorities- Inflation Control Doesn't Work
When I set my minister to "inflation control", inflation does not come under control, it remains high and usually keeps increasing, even when this is set as the ONLY priority. Is this a bug?

What i've found is that, you have to fight fire with fire, if you have drastic upswings of inflation and low unemployment, then you must take drastic measures to counter the effects/unintended consequences. I don't think the AI minister is capable of that kind of resource and population management. I think they do little upticks or downticks at a time, whilst the moves you made require huge action to combat those economic effects, though i have never actually sat down and tested this by writing anything out or graphing it out- but that is generally how the AI ministers run things, little bits at a time.

If i'm flush with enough cash i'll make huge moves to combat those problems and it STILL takes forever to bring it down. I would wager it would take forever for the AI minister to level it out for you to a good 3% unemployment rate with lower inflation 3-8%

Strangely, though, the AI ministers quickly ramp inflation and GDP up when you order them to grow GDP/c. For whatever reason they're nowhere near as strong at bringing everything back under control.

The biggest contributer to high inflation and low unemployment is building new buildings.. so even if you set AI to control inflation if you are still building new factories etc it is going to keep rising since the minister won't cancel the stuff you have started building.

Nope, it rises even when I haven't been building. If you first set the minister to increase GDP/c, and then later switch off the GDP growth priority, and then set it to control inflation, it doesn't control inflation. Inflation keeps increasing.

Thanks ricky. Yes if I do everything MANUALLY I can get inflation down, NO PROBLEM. I'm just saying that for whatever reason the AI minister can't get it down after his priority has already been increase GDP/c and switched off, even when you make his priority "inflation control". As a result, it's hard for me to cycle my economy properly with periods of acceleration and mild recession unless I do everything manually.
