No point building tanks.

Tanks seem to die really easily when fighting anything but another tank, IFVs can kill other tanks just as easily but can also fight in close combat very well. There is really no point to building tanks when most combat happens when capturing cities. What is the best way to use tanks?

Artillery.

Use tanks in open ground consider entrenching them if they're being used defensively, offensively use them with Infantry in support and Artillery, keep supplies flowing they are really a good asset and will generally do a better job killing other tanks than Infantry would.

Use them to hold flanks with other units while sending infantry in to the towns and woodlands

I find they have better success than infantry vs armored targets ie. mechanized infantry and other tanks,recon,arty but stay away from anti tank of course

i personally find the anti-tanks to be a little lack luster against tanks, an other armoured units.
