Confused how to finish off a king,

I keep taking all my enemies until it is only a king in the last territory. It seems to automatically make him a Protectorate, so I cannot move troops in there. So I End Relations with him. I still cannot move troops in there to finish him off. How do you do this.

It always seems that my allies can kill him off, but not me. Why?

I played AoC on my iPad for years and it was really easy to figure out. But I'm not sure how to do it here in this version.

Any help please?

If you take over another king, all his provinces become part of your victory points. You don't have to eliminate him.

If you don't like that, uncheck the "Commando Unit - Capture" option in "Advanced" part during game setup :-D

In addition, in [Settings], disable the "Commando Unit - Capture" option to disable it for all the games you setup (it says "default" right now)!

Thanks for the tip. I did find another method myself by playing around a bit. But it's more tedious, and takes 3-4 turns to accomplish. Immediately after it says I conquered him, it makes him protected by me. I found that if you End Relations, it will put a 2-turn Cease Fire. When that's over, you can Declare War on him again, then you can go in and kill him.
