How do blood golems work?

I understand i need to sacrifice units but how does this work? I tried sacrificing a bunch and then clicking the golem buttonand it didnt work. I tried clicking the golem button THEN sacrificing and this doesnt seem to work either

Hi! So the blood golem will automatically sacrifice all your cultists and goblins when you cast it. It should say on the summon button how many units you used for your last blood golem. Also noting that you can only have 1 at a time. Cheers!

Oh so it doesn't sacrifice skeletons? Makes a bit of sense, but you should declare "no undead" in the tooltip because Bone marrow is where our blood comes from, so if anyone knows this, it'll result in confusion!
