Good stage order for Ray?
So with Beck, I've got a pretty good stage order that I tackle things in - start with Countershade, which I think is the easiest overall stage+boss to stomp without ReXelection, and then go after the other Mighty Numbers based on exploiting weapon weaknesses. It gives you the easiest stages first (Countershade, Aviator, Pyrogen), albeit at the cost of some of the better ReXelections coming later in the kill order.

What I haven't figured out is the best order to tackle stages as Ray. Countershade's stage is actually fairly challenging as Ray even with respawning health, due to the lack of any checkpoint until reaching the final battle.

What have you found to be a good stage order as Ray?

I went Pyro first. But I'd suggest just experimenting with each possible route until you find something you're comfortable with. That's the charm of playing a MM styled game that has recently come out. You get to experiment and figure out things on your own.

Really, you beat Pyro without any of the other weapons? I found Pyrogen's stage pretty easy but the boss fight almost ridiculously hard as Ray - Pyrogen is the boss I have the hardest time avoiding stray damage from. Even knowing his moves, I find it hard to avoid some of the things like falling a pixel or two too low when dashing over his explosion trail, and Pyrogen himself soaks enough damage that you don't often get to recover Xel.

I go Pyrogen first for both Beck and Ray. His boss fight is fairly easy. With Ray, you've just got to rush him. But one thing don't know is that you can attack and dash at the exact same time. So if you press both at the exact same time every time, you can bum rush him for double the damage. Stay aggressive and he won't even be able to attack.
The only thing in his second phase that you have to watch out for is his silly OHKO. So you've got to get in close and then immediately back off so he wastes his charge. Then go back and rush him again. Very simple strategy.

Hmm interesting, I hadn't tried that strategy on Pyrogen before. I always pursued a dodge-heavy strategy and frequently failed by slightly mistiming dashes. I'll have to try the attack+dash trick, I didn't know that could be done.
