8 Bit Mega Man is overrated
Seriously. I'm so sick of 8 Bit Mega Man fanboys!
Mega Man 7 and 8 were great games! But they tend to be hated because they're not 8-Bit...
I mean, come on! Mega Man 8 has the best music in classic series, best robot masters designs, best story and awesome graphics!

And ending of Mega Man 7... MASTERPIECE.

i guess that's why i love Mighty No.9. Because it's like Mega Man 8.

No one's going to take you seriously with this crappy opinion. I like MM8's music but it's no way superior to pretty much the entire franchise. It's bland and insipid with horrible instrument choices (Both the PSX and Saturn versions) and the songs are barely memorable.

There's a reason why there aren't many MM8 remixes to begin with.

Barely memorable..?
Then why when i think of Mega Man, i mostly remember Mega Man 8 tracks?
If it's barely memorable to YOU, doesn't mean that it's barely memorable to EVERYONE.

I do not like any of the NES Mega Man games, but I do love Mega Man V on GBC, which I guess counts as 8-bit. I never really could bring myself to care much about Mega Man 8 and, while I do love Mega Man 7, I do think the controls are not as tight as the X series on the same platform.

It is a shame Mega Man Powered Up never spawned its own series, as it made the original Mega Man actually enjoyable for me.
Eh 7 was meh but tbf so was 5 and 3.7 is slow and the music is too whimsical with some exceptions such as ww castle part 1 or the boss themes. The slightly lower ammount of remixes has more to do more with nostalgia for the era and becus the melodies of the chiptune are simpler and thus more flexible and malleable into another style.Of course the x series likely has the most amount of remixes but I digress.

My main issue with 8 from a gameplay standpoint is how overpowered(or more accurately optimal) alot of the screw upgrades are such as arrow shot. That being said its hated on for some very silly reasons that were largely an endemic of the time ( cough dem animated bits). All that being said it had the bigest jump in meaningful gameplay since 4 and all of the robot masters are memorable if not a bit more on the zanny side.

If anything 5 and 3 get lumped in with classic megaman despite being the worst of it .

Thing is, I wrote an honest review of what I've played so far. I came onto the Megaman fan train quite late in terms of getting the actual games, but have watched quite a bit of the Megaman cartoon when I was a kid while playing X series demos at the local stores on and off when I was a teen.

People hate it because it was panned by everyone. The game feels like if the classic series had a baby with the X series. Given that Megaman 1 was meh as well and it wasn't until 2 that the series actually kicked off...

Capcom should try rock out a new Mega Man 11. 9 and 10 where really good titles in my opinion, Its a damn shame they're not on PC.

I never got the chance to try out any of the super nintendo or sony playstation titles besides the rockman soccer game but the 8 bit charm was pretty good and well recieved, I think Shovel knight is also a good example 8 bit can be awesome and played and enjoyed by millions if its done right.

Can't say i'm much of a fanboy though, i got into megaman later in the series in the 2000's and even then, just an enjoyable game and series for me, I'd be willing to try out 3D megamans, Don't know how you'd not be if you're a fan of megaman

The only Mega Man 8 tunes I remember from memory are the title screen music and the intro level music. I've played further than that in the past, though. I remember some boss voices, too. Grenade Man was hilarious. And who could forget stuttering Dr. Light? Good times...
megaman 7 and megaman 8 was likely hated because of their high difficultty. megaman 8 was so difficult that i failed to get through the first fortress stage.(unable to defeat the boss). the stages was way too long as well. megaman 7 was good but doctor wily was too difficult to defeat. i do not understand why the 8 bit games is so popular but there is more of them in the megaman series. megaman x4 was good while x5 and x6 despite using the same engine lacked the same quality because the creator left the team.

If you follow the line of each megaman game, theres a progression of visual style but it sticked to its same formula. Mighty no 9 looks like an early ps2 game. It makes this....

Have more content than it should have! Ray DLC?! C'mon! Backers should get that for free instead of having it seperate. I like 8 bit megaman 1 to 6 wise but not what I was expecting from 9 and 10.

If it's barely memorable to YOU, doesn't mean that it's barely memorable to EVERYONE.

It goes both ways, I can also say that the songs are only memorable to YOU and barely memorable to EVERYONE. My proof is on the lack of remixes and the amount of people who bring up MM8's soundtrack whenever they talk about the overall series' music.

MM8 was one of the first MM games I played from beginning to end and even I can tell that the previous games had far better music.

Not for nothing backed the game, got pc version, got ray dlc for free. Still wouldn't be pissed about the ray dlc as it was made after they finished the core game and were just shooting the ♥♥♥♥. (specifically the single player campaign) Additionally there is plenty of content in mn9 what with challenge mode, boss rush, online co op challenges, as well as a player vs player competition. It honestly has more content than most of the mm series.
mm9 could be seen as them attempting to go back to the roots visually and somewhat mechanically(the simulated slowdown was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥) but 10 was typical capcom milking.
