No one's going to take you seriously with this crappy opinion. I like MM8's music but it's no way superior to pretty much the entire franchise. It's bland and insipid with horrible instrument choices (Both the PSX and Saturn versions) and the songs are barely memorable.
There's a reason why there aren't many MM8 remixes to begin with.
Then why when i think of Mega Man, i mostly remember Mega Man 8 tracks?
If it's barely memorable to YOU, doesn't mean that it's barely memorable to EVERYONE.
It is a shame Mega Man Powered Up never spawned its own series, as it made the original Mega Man actually enjoyable for me.
My main issue with 8 from a gameplay standpoint is how overpowered(or more accurately optimal) alot of the screw upgrades are such as arrow shot. That being said its hated on for some very silly reasons that were largely an endemic of the time ( cough dem animated bits). All that being said it had the bigest jump in meaningful gameplay since 4 and all of the robot masters are memorable if not a bit more on the zanny side.
If anything 5 and 3 get lumped in with classic megaman despite being the worst of it .
People hate it because it was panned by everyone. The game feels like if the classic series had a baby with the X series. Given that Megaman 1 was meh as well and it wasn't until 2 that the series actually kicked off...
I never got the chance to try out any of the super nintendo or sony playstation titles besides the rockman soccer game but the 8 bit charm was pretty good and well recieved, I think Shovel knight is also a good example 8 bit can be awesome and played and enjoyed by millions if its done right.
Can't say i'm much of a fanboy though, i got into megaman later in the series in the 2000's and even then, just an enjoyable game and series for me, I'd be willing to try out 3D megamans, Don't know how you'd not be if you're a fan of megaman

Have more content than it should have! Ray DLC?! C'mon! Backers should get that for free instead of having it seperate. I like 8 bit megaman 1 to 6 wise but not what I was expecting from 9 and 10.
It goes both ways, I can also say that the songs are only memorable to YOU and barely memorable to EVERYONE. My proof is on the lack of remixes and the amount of people who bring up MM8's soundtrack whenever they talk about the overall series' music.
MM8 was one of the first MM games I played from beginning to end and even I can tell that the previous games had far better music.
mm9 could be seen as them attempting to go back to the roots visually and somewhat mechanically(the simulated slowdown was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥) but 10 was typical capcom milking.
