Why This Web Fishing Isn't Fun Anymore...

I've been playing Webfishing for a while now, and I was really hoping for a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Unfortunately, it's fallen short for a few reasons:

1. Fishing Mechanics Feel Repetitive

Catching fish should be exciting, but it all feels the same. There’s no variety in techniques or challenge as you progress — just cast, wait, reel, repeat.

2. Poor Chatroom Experience

One of the things I was most excited about was the chatroom feature to connect with other players. Unfortunately:
- Conversations are often toxic or just plain empty.
- The chat system lacks basic features like private messaging or emotes to make interactions fun.
- People are extremely weird especially to minors, I've seen actual grooming and if you ever call it out you get kicked
- Lack of moderation to keep children away from hypersexual adults (disgusting)

3. Limited Fish Variety and Locations

It's frustrating that after just a few hours, you've already seen most of the fish types and visited every fishing spot. There's not enough content to keep things fresh.

I really wanted this to be my go-to chill game, but right now, it just feels stale and frustrating.

What do you all think? Is there hope for this game, or is it just a lost catch? Would love to hear your thoughts or suggestions!

Yeah! It's really rude and people should at least reply like it's half the game :(

the fishing mechanics are indeed too bad. if you want to get all finishing rods by catching all the fish qualities and they decide to add one new fish, youve got wasted countless hours because now you have to find the new fish in all qualities in the same lootpool with all the other fish. there should be a lure that helps you catch the fish with quality that you havent caught yet.

the fishing is simple cause it is ultimately a side thing to the chatroom aspect, and if you keep finding "toxic" rooms, then it sounds like the game isn't for you.

really weird how you dont want a standard of quality when having a paid chatroom, if this game was free which it probably should be I'd get the quality being poor, but for a paid NEW "game" it's just not the quality expected

also instantly having critics about a game is "trolling" very cool thanks for contributing that to the conversation I'll be sure to call you a troll aswell.

where did i say i don't want good quality? thats on you not me.

i paid 5 dollars to get the game, and i got exactly what i paid for, to expect anything beyond what was presented and told to us via the store page is very silly.

It's just 5 bucks—stop rage-baiting. If you see toxic lobbies or grooming, just leave; it's that simple. Your points seem accurate, but whenever someone tries to change your mind, you shut them down. You don’t seem to handle critique very well. Many people are toxic in online games and if they don't wanna talk to you, you can't make them, as for the fishing its a fishing game...its a nice, simple fishing game where you can casually join in on conversations and i have done just that on multiple occasions, i even spent 2 hours around a tiny fishing hole with most people in the server and we talked about random stuff the whole time, it got a bit freaky but it was an 18+ server so it was whatever.
Overall it was well worth the couple of bucks i paid for it, its cheap, simple and does exactly what is advertised, i'm sure it will get updates adding features since its just a little indie game, so it obviously won't be fleshed out immediately.

To be completely real your takes are at least a little strange if you're truly not trolling, I have not had the same experience with bad lobbies, but I do spend quite a bit of time filtering through the list to look for ones with silly names and lower player counts.

The fishing can get old, but in its defense it mostly acts as a tool to be in the background for conversations - it would be awesome if more was added to it ofc, but the game is made by a single dev, and it's dirt cheap.

Grooming IS a serious concern, have heard about that being quite an issue, just not sure how the dev could tackle it

Firstly lower playercounts - the most popular lobbies (though I have joined them less) are often super chaotic in my personal experience, and anyone joins.

Look for lobby names like "making friends", "chilling and fishing", anything with "silly" in the name, and just cuter lobby names, I've had great experiences and made quite a few friends in some of these kinds of lobbies.

there's literally nothing he can do beyond what he has already

it's not the dev's fault a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ parent is letting their kid be stupid online
