Seriously this is a dev issue, the developer should have some autosave functionality in midgame not rely on ending and saving to maintain progress....
The only thing the developer could've really done better here is add an indicator that the game it autosaving, but that wouldn't have really helped your issue. It's a good practice to make a backup of your save for any game that you're invested in, sometimes these things just can't be avoided.
Unless you can find a save online that puts you in a similar spot to where you are, you're unfortunately out of luck. Starting over is literally the only other option, as stupid as you think that is, your original save is simply gone no matter how you spin it.
"...\AppData\Roaming\Godot\app_userdata\webfishing_2_newver"
delete the old save and rename "webfishing_migrated_data_backup.save" to "webfishing_migrated_data.save"
make sure to make a backup of ur current save AND ur backup just in case
I do appreciate you getting this information for me, I did try but there is no file there, I appreciate your efforts but I think I will just have to restart, I will keep in mind to make a backup just in case though, thank you
