tips for gettin' the diamond????

hit lvl 42 and i have not found a single diamond. i have also only fished up 4 alligators total. any tips for either please i am going insane in the head

diamond is in the ocean and i like using the golden hook. alligators, i like the sparkling lure. good luck, happy fishin.

i used magnet lure with cricket bait in the ocean and got diamond pretty fast (spent a long while trying in ponds and didn't work out)

I think its more for journal completion as the junk items you can fish up are tracked... including the higher quality versions you can get for some reason...
(imagine using a whole nautilus just to get an alpha soda can or plastic bag...)

Its honestly stupid the misc category and TRASH items are included in the completion rod quests tbh.
