[BUG] Clicking is not working/line wont cast

Playing with someone who got the game today and after a few minutes their line stopped casting even after restarting the game. They have bait, have the rod equipped, and they are using it in water, all with no luck. Not sure how to fix and even emptying their hands does not work. ANY HELP APPRECIATED!!!
UPDATE: clicking in general just. doesnt work anymore? they cannot click the icons in the top right or click at all in the game, and their mouse works fine outside of the game.

im haveing the exact same problem

i have tried everything but this makes the game actually unplayable. the only way to fix it is to restart the game but even then it takes less than a minute to stop working again. i really want this to work this game seems fun but i cant play no matter what i do :[

I have the same problem! it seems to happen when i shift-tab a lot. shift tabbing again sometimes fixes it but sometimes i genuinely cant figure it out and i go metal detecting

double press TAB to open and close inventory. fixes it for me

doesnt always work for me but sometimes it does

for me, when that happens switching to holding one of the fishing buddy buckets and then back to the rod fixes it, maybe that could help?

i also have a recent issue where when i take fish out of my buddies really fast and it freezes me in place. it fixes itself every time when i tab tho , so its not as bad as the other issue
