Trash collecting.

I have been trying for a couple days now to catch some normal bones for my journal. I have caught countless trash, except for bones and boots. I have been using the magnet lure, and worms since theres a higher chance to get regular items. I don't know why i havent caught a bone yet, but i'm very frustrated.

Where have you been fishing? Was sitting at Freshwater for 3 hours and got no bone. Went to Saltwater and got the bone as my first trash so i think it might be seperated? Not sure tho. Ill test it out with other bait and see, was going for normal atm

After doing some testing id have to say its just random chance. Here is some data I collected, using the Magnet Lure over an hour: 108 total catches of which 88 were ocean fish, 14 trash and 6 treasure chests.
Trash collected from oceanfishing:
1 Bone, 0 Old Boot. 3 Branch, 0 Diamond, 1 Drink Rings, 2 Plastic Bag, 4 Soda Can, 3 Weed.
For comparison sake here is a list of trash i collected just by playing and mostly sitting around freshwater spots:
0 Bone, 7 Old Boot. 11 Branch, 3 Diamond, 16 Drink Rings, 11 Plastic Bag, 10 Soda Can, 9 Weed. (this is without the oceanfishing trash i got from this session and no Magnet Lure)
Overall would need more data but from what I gathered its most likely just luck based, have fun!

dude i've been having this exact problem with the opulent level bone ive been stuck on it for the last like four hours using the magnet lure, both in fresh and saltwater

I've been fishing both fresh and saltwater, at least a day each. I guess i'm just that unlucky.
