played with one really nice dude and wanted to send him a mail with a UFO but i accidently opened the player list and i saw grincher i immediatly told the guy with me grincher was here and left wat i do

I do know about IP spoofing, but attackers don't gain much of that attack on regular users, they usually attack larger companies. I also mentioned port scans, in fact I mentioned the solution of implementing tweaks to your firewall to prevent it. Someone getting your IP isn't going to affect you that much unless you have the security to discard vulnerabilities, and if you notice spoofing or that you're getting DDoSed, you can just reset your router to get a new IP.

You all just repeat the same buzzword with "fearmongering" and "malicious" and "chill guy". The problem is a lot of posts had a certain structure of which grincher replied all the time prior to his ban. Additionally he boastfully went to some posts and said stuff like "get grinched". All the "proof" you want has been posted and some has been suspiciously deleted or taken down.

Yea, he stopped doing the "mailbombs" or whatever....cause that exploit has been fixed. And interferring with people's lobbies is already overstepping. I do not understand what that thing is supposed be acceptable. That already warrants a ban.

He is not a guy who "doesn't gaf", he went to discussions that were mentioning his name, inlcuding people from "Grincher's fanclub". The many times you have seen him you were not targetted or he laid-low. And if there was no evidence at all, Steam would have not banned him. Simple as.

And let us not forget there is still nothing being debunked of him joining private lobbies, replacing whole server lists and being immune to bans like in my games.

He is not the only one, but definitely the one of whom so much pushback is suddenly being shown, so even the defenders constantly put him int he spotlight (with the same buzzwords I might add).

This was him just joking about him being a notorious character, you can view it as you'd like, I saw it pretty inoffensive. And yet again, I cannot be sure if he "laid low" or "I wasn't targetted" as this hasn't happened to me, and again, I have not seen any proof OUTSIDE this discussion board that proves this.

The only proofs are just sightings of him joining private lobbies, that's not enough proof to directly accuse someone of these acts. Also, yes there is other people like him doing these things, but they've already cleared out they're doing this for the only point of "It's easy to join private lobbies, so we do it for fun." I can understand that someone doesn't want to have someone in their private lobby for the very reason that it's private, but as far as I've seen, they don't seem like bad guys.

So my entire point is "Yeah, they join lobbies, but they're accusing them of acts they are completely innocent until proven". The reason we repeat this "buzzword" is to let guys like you know that he is inoffensive, but some people don't listen.

Ive never used mods and my acc got corrupted and bricked after getting mail from him and a dude named Null and now I've had to restart all my progress. i was accepting a gift from someone on a server and might have accidentally accepted it from a guy named Null again so if my game gets corrupted again, I'll let you guys know because that seems to be a running pattern

Grincher has joined my Webfishing code lobby twice now (in the span of 30 minutes) and alongside him is always a bot (?) called XRECON..

oddly XRECON's name is slightly darker green then Grinchers? and XRECON will join about every 5-15 minutes (yet in player list there's always one instance of it)
