Minors don't give a ♥♥♥♥ about the 18+ warning on websites or the TOS that requires a certain age, they will create an account regardless. Get rid of images on the internet, people are posting porn and since images are on the internet children can see them so just get rid of images, text only. How the hell are you going to groom someone through a plaintext chat in a silly game that you can't in every other single method of communication online gaming and the internet as a whole? You can't send photos through it or whatever, the main chats are public and you can turn off DMs. This is less risky than the newsgroups I hung out in as a teen in the 90s ffs.

Maybe just pay attention to what your kids do on the computer if you're that bothered, else stop crying wolf.

Might be another Vrchat situation, its a complicated issue kind of like roblox, this game is meant to cater to a mostly more mature audience dispite the cutesy artstyle, dispite that minors are indeed going to not heed the 18+ stuff.

Removing control from ppl and banning ppl for say/doing naughty thins in game will just make ppl angry and wont work, the answer isnt clear.

I think the best thing to is to let ppl be free, and try to remove minors from 18+ as they appear, and remove any bad actors that are known groomers ect.

Agreed. I wouldn't be surprised if down the line a documentary releases on this game involving a grooming scandal. It's a damn shame. And while it isn't the devs fault they are partially responsible for cultivating this echo chamber that in some ways caters to sexual deviants and degenerates.
