My save is gone after update????

I lost 50hr of progress here too, updated the game and everything was gone, i did have to reset my computer before the update, so Idk if the game had the save on local machine or not

when you enter the game, before you click play/settings/quit, click on the icon on the top right of the screen.

Could be that you're using the wrong save file, check in top right on the main menu!

So yeah, Game does not have cloud saving, its all locally, so if you don't backup your save you are ♥♥♥♥♥♥, some people can go on top right to check if the save is there, but if you had the game reinstalled or like me who had a problem with the ssd and reset the computer and didn't have a backup, lost it all. Good thing is: you can find a save editor and edit it the things you remember, I just did that and now I'll have to fish all over again, just used for the cosmetics I had

You can complete mark quests as complete in the save editor and turn them in at the board, you can also add fish to your journal if needed!

Dunno what to say, other than that the same thing happened to me. I just assumed it would put my progress into save 1 when I clicked it.... and now I have nothing:( 20 hours just gone

I cant convert my PC save file into Laptop.. that sucks.. cuz I dont want to start all over again ;/ There is a way that I can do it?

i have a backup of my save but putting it in the folder i got it from doesn't seem to be doing anything

ok, so i just deleted everything in webfishing_2_newver (ONLY because i had nothing in there, i was starting on a different computer, you might not want to do this!! at least back those up first) and then took my old saves (webfishing_migrated_data.save and webfishing_migrated_data_backup.save, not sure if everyone has these backups) and put them in the webfishing_2_newver folder. restarted the game and my data is there and everything seems to be working! i hope this helps someone, but remember to be careful with your data

I also lost all my data at first, luckily the game auto backed it up and I fixed it in like 5 minutes

For me, the webfishing_2_newver folder had multiple save files, if yours doesn't have that then idk maybe there's another solution

Here's what I did:
**First, copy everything in the folder to another spot in case you break something. Do NOT touch anything without backing it up first.** Then open each save file (not the "backup" files if you have them) in a basic editor like notepad, look in there for inventory items and upgrades your old save had. If one of the files has stuff from your old save, then that's a backup and haven't lost everything!

One of the files in that folder should be a "default" new save. (It'll probably be number 0 or something) Replace that with the save that actually has your stuff in it and all should be fixed
