Saving Edited Planets
I'm obviously missing something. I find a planet through exploring. I go to edit it through the planet editor. I change it to how I want. I even try exporting (doesn't seem to do anything). When I come back into the program, everything is how it was originally. Can someone point me to the method to permanently edit a planet that is not a real object (not trying to edit Earth, just some remote planet).

You cannot change procedural planets, nor can you permanently change any planet using the editor. It is a development tool, you can use it to find the values you want, then export the script to use for a custom object.

Can I then add a custom object to the universe in some fashion? By the way, thank you for the time in answering.

Yes. There is pretty comprehensive documentation on the website (it might look intimidating because there's so much information there, but it's really not very complicated).
