How do I hard reset the game removing all the edits I've made to planets/stars and even removing what I had added in before?

I wonder if a Steam consistency check would take care of this for you. From your Steam library…

right-click the game’s title in left column > Properties > Local Files tab > Verify Integrity of Game Files button

Well, I wanted to mock a friend of mine. So I edited the oblateness of multiple stars and planets to prove the flat earth theory.

Apart from this, I've added in a couple of planets and changed the mass of several others that I've lost complete track of.

Well, just delete the files you added, that will get rid of any additions.

EDIT: I see the edits get fixed on their own on re-launching the application.
